CHAPTER 4: NOTHING SHE HAD EVER EXPECTED.

As she sat in the back seat of the benz, her heart thudded at every seconds. She had faced a few scary circumstances in her life that got her scared but not scared as she was at the moment.

The loud music from the distance incited the jubilation in town, they were going downtown, where the cemetery was. That haunted cemetery that had been locked by the government officials several years ago because of the amount of death it recorded. But, Estelle actually wondered sometimes, the reason those people went there. They just wanted to get themselves killed?

" Are you okay?" Lair asked from the front seat, he turned to stare at Estelle but the cold glance he received from her made him sigh and turn away.

" We're almost there. Buckle up." Neil announced indifferently and Estelle suddenly felt like biting his head off.

" The map?" She requested in a mutter, swiping her tongue over her chapped lips. She hadn't talked since a while.

" You wouldn't be needing them."

" Why?"

" You were given the needed amount of time to digest the locations in your brain. You don't look dull from your grades in school so you should be able to grab what you've studied since yesterday. Do what you have to and get the fuck out of there immediately. I'll surely deny you if you get caught." Neil hissed with a smacking sound.

" You really want me to die, don't you?"

" I sure do." Neil replied while Lair passed him a scolding glare.

It was obvious when they finally entered the bumpy, hilly area of the cemetery, the air had suddenly changed from being cool to an eerie one. Estelle even casted one more angry glance at the two men, she really regretted going out of her apartment the other night. She wasn't even able to reach either Naina or her sister, she missed them.

The car soon stopped few meters away from the cemetery and Estelle took in several breaths.

" Get out." Neil spoke, his voice was low but they could hear him clearly.

Estelle thought of convincing them at the last minute. " You both know how unfair this is, right? There are people I need to care about for crying out sake, there are people who'd worry about me. Why can't you both just do this yourself?"

" Time's ticking." The Beta said again, completely ignoring her. There was silence for a few minutes and the unexpected happen, Estelle landed a very hard knock on the Beta's head before running out of the car.

" That bitch!" Neil muttered a curse as he held the hinges of the car door. It was very obvious he'd have ran out to get hold of Estelle if it weren't for Lair who held him by his arm.

" You've frustrated the human enough, Neil. Just calm the fuck down." Lair sighed.

" But, you really think she'd make it out alive? Maybe we should have told her about the criteria needed to do this. I really don't know why I feel kind of bad for her. She's even doing this for her sister who isn't even breathing anymore." Lair sighed but as usual, the Beta was looking indifferent.

" Do I look like I care? She's not married so her virginity has to be intact."

" What are you saying, man? The other girls weren't married too."

" It's none of our faults. They wouldn't have said the truth if we'd asked them so we could just say dying there in the cemetery is the price for not keeping themselves intact." Neil shrugged.

" River isn't even as heartless as you are, man! Why didn't you advice those chicks you have sex with to get married first?" Lair hissed, he too was already getting angry. The Beta simply stared ahead before revving the engine of the car to life.

" We're leaving?"

" Of course, we are! You aren't expecting us to wait for her, are you? Look, if she succeeds, he'll surely bring her back. As you said, he isn't as heartless as I am so he sure wouldn't leave her alone there. And if she doesn't, her case would remain like the rest so what's the use waiting?"

Lair only nodded his head. It wasn't like he could do anything and Neil was almost right.

" But you know there isn't much time? We have to bring him back. We can't stand another unknown Alpha ruling over us, we'll have no stance anymore too."

" Calm your nerves. We'll get him back." Neil clicked his tongue. " Spit it out." The Beta sighed when the Gamma wouldn't stop staring at him.

" You do know we might be treating the Alpha's mate in such a wrongful manner, right? You think he'll let us go scot-free?"

" She can never and would never be the one. I told you to calm down!"

Estelle held onto the hem of her dress tightly as she watched the black benz driving away till it finally disappeared from her line of sight. Those bastard couldn't even wait for her, were they too sure she'd die?

Slowly, she swiveled around to look at the large, dark, scary building behind her and a gasp escaped her lips. Gosh, it was looking much more scarier and eerier than she'd pictured it to be.

She could feel her whole body turn pale, she was scared, terribly terrified to the point of no return. The area was looking so dark and demonic.

" You'll be fine. You're doing this for Sunny, okay?" She muttered to herself before slowly turning around and soundlessly limping towards the backyard of the cemetery where Neil had showed her in the map to pass.

According to him, if she did the mistake of passing the front route, she wouldn't need any ghost to scare her as she'd have died of cardiac arrest on her own. That bastard had no filter in that mouth of his at all!

Estelle stopped and squealed lowly when she felt a sickening kind of pain under her foot. She had stepped on a sharp object and it seemed her sandals soles weren't that strong.

She had to do what she needed to fast, there wasn't any going back as she might just get lost trying to run back to nowhere in question. Something had just even struck her, how was she going to return if she was successful? Or were those bastards already assured she wasn't going to be alive to think of returning? Well, she'd show them what she was made of.

For her sister's wellbeing, she was ready to do anything. Ignoring the pain in her leg, she continued on her tracks, hurriedly. The celebration in town might end anytime soon and things wouldn't be so good if she was caught.

A bat flew over her head all of a sudden and the speed Estelle used to fall to the ground needed to be studied. She stood up and continued and as seen in the map, there was a small, rusty gate at the back of the cemetery.

There was a padlock on it but Neil had just told her to push it gently. She did and it immediately flung open, giving her way to enter.

" Don't stand there looking for long. An angry ghost might just snap your neck from behind." Neil's words replayed in her head and immediately, she took steps past the gate and finally, into the dreaded cemetery.

Estelle was shaking like ice were being poured on her. Her heart was thudding so loudly that she was scared the ghosts might hear it and decided to drag it out of her chest for disturbing them.

She so much hated her thrilling thoughts!

Like the moon was hearing her prayers, it slowly emerged out of the sky, it's light illuminating and giving her the chance to see properly. Estelle breathed a sigh of relief before taking quiet, gentle steps towards the direction in the map. She already had the whole map pictured in her head.

She finally reached the grave where she was to dig out the corpse. What exactly did they need a dead, rotten corpse for? The cemetery had been locked for years and of course, the corpse she was about to dig out had been buried before the cemetery was locked so was she going to be picking out bones? Or even just sand?

Bending slowly on her knees, her butt hit another grave behind her and she immediately jumped off it, sweat beads were all over her face and neck. She bent down again, this time, raising a quite large pick that laid right beside the grave she needed to dig out. From the illuminations of the moonlight, she could see tiny specks of dirt around the pick like someone wrapped a dirty hand around it.

The realization of the owner or owners of the hand prints made Estelle gasp again.

" You don't have to worry about using your hand to dig it out, you'll find a pick besides it." Neil had told her and for the nth time that day, Estelle gritted her teeth as she cursed the Beta.

Estelle started to dig, her heartbeat dropping by the seconds. She wasn't ready for what she would see in a few minutes or probably hours because it didn't seem like she was making any progress in the digging at all. Like she suspected, an hour had passed and she had really gone deep into the soil with her digging but still, she could find nothing.

What was going on? Ruminating on her fate for a few minutes, she wrapped her sweaty hand around the pick and started the digging all over. That was probably how the others wrapped their sweaty hand around the pick too. Would another person think the same she was thinking too?

All of a sudden, she heard a small sound. A sound that seemed like she tore something, Estelle stood up on her knees, looking concentrated as she stared down at the hole she was digging.

" A bag?" She muttered. Taking a quick glance around the quiet cemetery, she soundlessly dropped the pick and drew out the bag from the hole.

It was stuck but she drew it out with all the remaining powers in her and what she saw brought out the scream she had been stifling in her all these while. She was immediately reminded of where she was and palmed her mouth shut.

" M...m.. money?" She stuttered, staring at the dirty notes of dollar bills that littered all around the ground.

" What's this? What's going on? Money? Didn't they mention about a coffin and a corpse? Was it actually money?" Estelle's thoughts were rotating, her head spinning.

She raised her gaze back to where she was digging and another muffled scream escaped her lips when she saw the small golden part of a coffin. There really was a coffin? Not money?

She stared back at the bag of money, those were more than enough cash for her to treat her sister and for her and Naina to become millionaires in few minutes. She suddenly thought of leaving with the money and running far away from those bastards but another thought told her to do as they wanted and go away with the money to start a new life of her own.

So, she moved towards the coffin and scooped all the sands away from it before slowly opening it and for the second time that night in the cemetery, Estelle let out a very shrill and terrifying scream that was even enough to resurrect the dead people.

There was no corpse! No decaying body! No sand! Nothing she had ever expected! But instead, there was a very fresh angel in human form inside the coffin, staring straight at her with those gorgeous, golden orbs of his and with his long silver locks full behind his head.

Her hand fell to her sides, she was losing breath, she was dying, she wanted to run but before she could even think of anything, he raised his hand, dragged her towards him and clamped his lips straight on hers.
