Adrian's POV:
My head was banging heavily with the thought of Violet leaving me. I should be happy, right? But why the mood? Why was I in this state if this was what I wanted?
Emily had always been the one on my mind, but then again, she should have at least told me about the pregnancy before leaving me. Why would she just decide to leave?
"Don't tell me you're still here brooding over her," Emily's voice startled me from my thoughts as I flinched and then looked at her face.
Her face squinted in anger as she gazed down at me, but not like I care anyways.
"You need to leave, Emily," I replied coldly. If there was anything I hated, it was some kind of pity party. I hated it so much.
"I can't let you sit here and keep brooding over her. Don't you get it? She's gone!" Emily barked.
The least I needed at this moment was just my quiet time, and Emily didn't seem to understand it.
I stood to my feet deciding to leave her there since she didn't want to let me be. But then I hadn't taken a step from where I stood when her hands grabbed mine.
"I'm your Emily. Your one and only... She was never in the picture, remember? It had just been us. You just have to make me your Luna, and we'll bear a child together. Don't you think it's nice that the child didn't survive? I mean, I'll be the only one to carry the royal blood and give you an heir," her tone only made my anger worsen.
One minute I was standing close to her, the next, I grabbed her by her neck, slamming her to the wall as I glared hotly at her face.
"You have no idea how desperately I wanted a child, and then you dare rub it on my face that I failed at my first attempt? Failure is never my thing," I spat, gritting my jaw together.
"You're hurting me, Adrian," I heard her whimper, and then I remembered that I was squeezing her neck so hard.
Wait, what? What had come over me? I didn't intend to touch her, not to talk of squeezing her neck.
"I'm sorry," I quickly said as I walked away. I literally can't tell why I did that or what had suddenly come over me.
"This is what happens when you get to disobey me," my Wolf tugged at me.
"Oh! Shut it, we both know I didn't love her," I snapped, raking my hair forward as I headed straight to my room.
"But she was our mate!"
"No, I disagree. She was your mate, and you wanted her for your selfish reasons, knowing quite well that I loved her friend," I argued. One would think I'm a madman now as I was walking and talking. It was supposed to be a mind link, but I was too annoyed that I had to voice it out.
"Emily isn't your mate, Violet is. She was destined to you by the moon goddess, and you dare to defy the goddess?" Of there was anything I hated was how Kai, my Wolf, tends to nag.
"If marrying the woman I love is tend to be defying the moon goddess, then I don't care," I snapped.
"You don't care, but here you are looking so bittered. I mean, you should move on and moreso, I was expecting you to be in a Jacuzzi with Emily, so what's stopping that?" He sneered.
I halted for a while, maybe I was hurt by her betrayal.
"Alpha, words are just reaching me now, guess who is on their way?" I halted right on my track as I turned to face Reynold. I squinted my face as I glared at him. He was panting, which simply means he had been running.
"What happened?"
"Your parents are on their way," I sighed as I heard the words, this was going to be troubles upon troubles.
Violet's POV:
It's been close to a week since I left the Silver Pack, and my Grandmother had taken me in. Life in the Redmoon pack had been nothing but fun, reuniting with my Mother and all.
If there's anything I'd do to keep myself busy, it was riding a horse; it was like a morning routine. And here I was riding; it was one exercise that makes me forget about the Silver pack and Adrian. I already told myself that I was going to move on, give birth to this child, and make sure I train him or her without him involved.
The horse thundered through the forest, its speed unstoppable despite my frantic attempts to rein it in. "Nina, please!" I pleaded, but she surged forward, heedless of my distress. Remembering my grandmother's warning about her stubbornness, I felt a pang of regret for not heeding it. "Help!" I cried out to a passing group, but my pleas were lost in the rush of wind. Nina's pace quickened, and in a fleeting moment, I found myself hurtling through the air. As panic seized me, I whispered a desperate prayer to the moon goddess, pleading for protection for both myself and my unborn child.
One moment, I was suspended in the sky, weightless and terrified. Then, suddenly, I found myself cradled in strong, protective arms. Blinking my eyes open, I gazed into a pair of mesmerizing eyes—deep blue with hints of green—that held me captive. Breath caught in my throat as I struggled to find words, lost in the depths of his gaze. In those eyes, I saw mysteries and depths beyond comprehension. If there was a definition for handsomeness, he exceeded it in every way.
I quickly looked away as he cleared his throat, and then made me stand to my feet.
"Thank... You..." I stuttered as I stared down at him. He wasn't looking like a rogue, so I assumed he might be a Beta or maybe a pack member.
"Mason," he smiled, revealing his white sets of dentition.
"Violet," I stuttered back, beaming back at him.
"You seem new... I've not seen you around," He had this soft voice that was enough to sweep any girl off their feet.
"Yeah, that's because... I..." I was still talking when I was cut short by either one of his friend or so.
"Al..." I knew the other guy wanted to say something, but a stern glare from Mason had him halted.
"I'll be back," I heard him speak, waving him off.
"Where's Violet?" My dad was quick to ask as he settled into the sitting room. He wasn't looking much different from when last I had saw him. Aside from the fact that he was aging from day to day. This was exactly what I was trying to prevent. I hated moments like this, where he would have to question me like a child."Dad, I'm old enough. I'm no longer a child. I'm old enough to make decisions for myself!" I yelled, my head pounding. My dad was a man of control; he loved being in control, and when he said something, he wanted it done his way. He was mostly the reason why I had to marry Violet."You're old enough to make decisions, and yet you have to make a stupid one. I didn't ask for any story. Where is Violet?" His voice boomed through the room. I could tell he was losing his patience."She's gone!" I looked away; the word was hard to say. Heaven knows I didn't intend to let her go. That was a choice she made on her own.I watched as his face fell with disappointment."I'll give y
Adrian It's been weeks since my father threat, not like I give a damn anyways. I'd put effort in carrying out a search for Violet, but she was no where to be found. Though I was bothered, but I also had my concern laced on Emily. She's my major concern as of now.One Knock. Two Knock. Three!, Yet no response, I opened the door as I walked inside."Emily?" I called out, my heart racing as I approached her bedside. My pulse quickened as I saw her lying there, her body tense and huddled together."You're here," she whimpered, and a wave of calm washed over me."Yes, I am. My dearest Emily," I whispered, gently touching her face. Guilt washed over me as I realized how I had neglected her over the past few weeks, despite knowing full well about her medical condition."I can't express how relieved I am to see you. I thought you had truly left me. I could only see shadows. I feared I'd have to breathe without you by my side... I thought," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion."Em
Chapter 1 "Congratulations, Violet, you're two weeks pregnant!" The doctor's words rang in my ear as I sat up straight. My eyes widened as I stared at the result he had handed over to me in disbelief. "Y.. You're certain about this, aren't you?" I had to ask for a second time because I needed to be sure."Tests can't lie, Mrs. Adrian. It's certain. You're two weeks pregnant," the doctor muttered as he smiled. I could see the relief in his eyes too as he assured me.Of course, he has to be relieved because Adrian and I were like regular visitors in his hospital. We'd tried all the methods and forms to ensure I was pregnant, but none worked: In Vitro fertilization (IVF), Intra Uterine insemination (IUI)... Name it, we tried all but none yielded results."Thank you so much, Doctor, thank you!" I muttered, tears welling in my eyes as I headed outside.Adrian is going to be excited that I'm finally going to give birth to an heir to the Wolfe. Being married for four years without an heir wa
Chapter 2I watched as his eyes diverted from mine, facing the floor, his hands fidgeting, and then he said the formidable."I want a divorce!" The words pierced through my heart like an arrow, shattering me beyond repair. This can't be true! This is a lie, no. No.. this is a dream!"What do you mean, Adrian..." I stuttered, trying to affirm if I had heard correctly."You heard me, Violet. I want a divorce!" He repeated, saying the words like it meant nothing to him."Why? Is there anything I'm not doing correctly, for you want me to change..." I was still trying to talk when he cut me off."Enough, Violet! You both know I had zero intention of getting married to you. If not for my father's command, I would have rejected you the very same day the moon goddess revealed that you're my mate," With each word he uttered, it reminded me of the past, like several arrows shot at once."But we've been married for four years now... You're addicted to my body, we are compatible, you admitted it y
Chapter 3"For the past three hours, I've remained indoors, ignoring the persistent knocks from Adrian and that woman. Refusing to engage, I simply directed them to go to hell," I stated firmly, as I stared at the signed divorce papers, placing them on the table silently hoping Adrian would notice. "Finally free from him, I can only hope this decision brings an end to his misery as well."After cautiously checking if there was anyone outside, I opened the door to be startled by Freya standing there. "Freya," I exclaimed, taken aback by her unexpected presence."Luna, you scared me, I was already getting worried. The Alpha king asked me to look after you," Freya explained."Is he home?" I queried."No, he went to settle some official duties."I let out a sigh, relief washing through me that he was not around."I've got to go, Freya," I announced, letting her inside as I carried my suitcase. "Let this be between us and never tell the Alpha king about my whereabouts," I made it clear to
Chapter 4"Alpha, is everything alright?" My Beta, Reynold asked. Reynold was my right-hand man; I always fill him in on whatever was happening in my life. He was like a younger brother I never had."That's a good news, at least you wouldn't have to marry Emily anymore," he smiled, he had always hated Emily from day one but approves of me getting married to Violet."That's not the case; she's nowhere to be found," I broke the bombshell, watching as his face went rigid."I already assigned the guards to do that; she can't run far. It's either she's at her parents' house or somewhere within the pack; they'll surely bring her back.""Fetch me the Royal Doctor. I need to confirm the test first, if it's worth chasing after her or not," I ordered."You are chasing after her just because of the baby?" Reynold queried, his brows propping up."Yes, why else? She signed the divorce papers already, so we are done!" The hurt was right in my chest, but I have to pretend; she signed it, so it simply
