14: FAILED ESCAPE

LISA’S POV

Those silver-grey orbs, which I could never forget even if I tried, were piercing daggers into my soul. How could I ever forget them when I have three kids with the same eyes as him?

He is dressed in a pair of sweats and a long-sleeved t-shirt, the sleeves rolled up to the elbow. The same way he used to dress when we’d train together. But he looks broader now, though those luscious lips and dark shiny hair remained the same. Wait, what am I saying? Snap out of it, Lisa. You can’t think that way about the same man who used you and dumped you like trash.

“What are you trying to do?” He asked again, pulling me out of my trance.

“What does it look like I’m doing?” I retort, tightening my hand on the iron bar beside the window.

“Get away from the window,” he ordered, walking closer.

“If you take another step, I promise you I’m going to jump,” I hissed, but he simply ignored me and took another step.

I let go of the bar, jumping out. I had already made up my mind before he came
