16: FLEEING

LISA’S POV

Unlike last time, I feel like a racehorse full of strength; there aren't any headaches or weak joints.

I wasn’t in the room I was last time; I don't recognize this room at all, but something tells me I'm still at the pack house, or somewhere in the pack.

Sitting up, I take in the room, trying to figure out where I am. Like most of the rooms in the pack house, it has white walls with red and black furniture.

“You’re awake,” a blonde girl asked as she came through the door. Her white coat tells me she is one of the pack's doctors.

“How are you feeling?” She flashes me a warm smile, but I don’t say anything, just watch her as she drops the tray she came in with on the nightstand.

“Where am I?” It was the only thing that came out of my mouth, and it is the most logical thing to ask. I need to get out of here, and to do that, I need to know where I am.

I don’t know how long I have been asleep or what time it is. I need to get home; I need to be sure my kids are safe. I hope they
