It took a few moments before what he said to me sank in. "Mom, I don't agree to this marriage yet."

"Did I give you a choice?" He raised an eyebrow at me before gesturing to the door. "Now, go out there, and wait for me. I'll be out soon."

"Mom, I can't marry a guy I just met!" I exclaimed. "I don't even know him. What if he is a bad person? What if he hurts me?”

"Do you think I'll choose him if he's a bad guy? Of course, I did a background check on him. He's decent. At least more decent than your monkey.”

I stopped myself from yelling at him and saying that Oxem is not a monkey. She won't listen to me. She didn't before, and she wouldn't ever.
