Chapter 18

LAVINIA'S POV

I woke up in the cage.

When I tried to move, my chest hurt like hell so I stopped. I noticed that both my hands and feet had been chained this time.

I could feel the eyes of all the other girls on me. None of them had spoken to me so far and I don't really mind that, they had all probably been through their own share of cruelty but I would really appreciate it if they could stop gawking at me.

With the limited chance the chains on my hands provided, I slowly raised my shirt up to take a look at my right side. For sure it was terribly bruised and swollen and I had to control my breathing so that the pain wouldn't worsen.

I felt like crying but I held myself back, crying would only make it worse. I just have to get my mind away from the pain somehow.

As soon as I heard sounds coming from what I assume to be a secret room in the shop, I quickly dropped my shirt and stayed still, keeping my eyes down.
