Chapter 2

When dusk came, their mother did not return home.  Eloise also could not leave Elena to find their mother.  She was worried, but she could do nothing.

"Ely, where is Mom?"  Elena asked worriedly.

"I also don't know, for now, let's just wait in case she come home even at night," Eloise replied with a shrug.

What Eloise worries about is how their daily food is.  The contents of their pot were cold rice.  When their parents came home, they hadn't brought food for the whole month.

Eloise doesn't know how they will live.  She could not leave her sister to find work.  Her stomach was churning and the food they had was small portion and just for one person only.

She immediately checked her wallet to see if she still had money to buy an egg for her sister's dish.  But Eloise devastated to see that the wallet contained a few coins.

Eloise sighed, she didn't know how they would survive tomorrow.  Eloise sat down and wondered what to do so, they could have something to eat for the next day.

"Ely, I'm not going to go to school in coming. I know you don't have money to support me. I'll stop first this year to help you," Elena said.

She tapped Eloise on the shoulder to ease her  feeling.  Eloise couldn't answer her sister but to hug her.

In their emotional scene, a knock on the door caught their attention.  Eloise immediately let go of her sister's embrace and went to the door to open it.  What she hopes to see is their mother to somehow calm her mind.

Upon Eloise's opening, a sweet smile greeted her.  He was carrying a bag with contain food.  She knew very well because she could smell the delicious food he was carrying.

"Hi, I know you don't have anything to eat so, I brought you and Elena," George said kindly.

George’s life was far away from them.  George's family are well -known in their town.  Eloise is truly grateful because George's family is kind, even though George's house was far away, but he still managed to go and deliver food to them.

"Thank you, George, I felt shame myself, and you've even bothered for us," Eloise replied shyly.

"Nothing. Don't be shy, and you are not different for me. I also consider your family, and you knew that before."

Eloise smiled happily at what the young man said.  And she was talking to her boyfriend, the female ghost appeared behind of George.  It has no emotion standing behind him.

But Eloise did not overcome any emotion.  She ignored the female ghost and just invited George inside their house.

"Come into our hut. Please be patient with our house," she said to her boyfriend.

At the same time as George entered, the female ghost followed.  Eloise just pretends that she can't see the ghost.

"It doesn't matter what you have, that's not relevant to me," George replied.

"Hello, George. Good and here you are, I'm a little scared because we don't have anyone else with us," Elena said happily.

"Don't worry, my little sister. From now on, I will be with you every night," he said while winking at Eloise.

George put down the food on the small bamboo table.  Elena was happy to see the delicious food. She was held her stomach showing to them that she's hungry.

"Wow, thank you so much George, you know I'm hungry so Ely and I don't have any food."

Elena immediately sat down and opened the box that contained the food.  At the same time, the female ghost also sat in the next chair.

Coincidentally, George was about to sit in the chair where the female ghost was sitting.  Eloise immediately blocked George so that he could not sit the ghost.

"Wait! You'd better just sit here."

Eloise pointed to another chair and pushed the young man over there.  George was also surprised by Eloise's actions, but he hadn't mentioned it to the girl yet.

"Ely, is really corny. Don't you want George to sit next to me!"  Elena muttered.

"It's not like that. I just don't want him to sit there in the old chair, and it might suddenly break, and he gets hurt," Eloise said.

Elena nodded and agreed with Eloise's said.  Eloise couldn't just tell her sister that she saw the ghost, and she might be even more scared.

"That's enough. The best thing is that we just eat before the food cooled down," George said.

They started dinner with the ghost staring at them.  Eloise was just surprised because the female ghost didn't hurt them.  She was so scared that morning that she thought George would be hit with a broom.  But from what she sees, it doesn't interfere.

"George, are you convinced, you  want here to sleep with us?"  Eloise asked after their dinner.

"Of course. I already asked permission to my Mother, and she agreed."

Eloise just felt George holding her hand.  The young man knew she was worried about what the young man's parents might say.

"I told you not to worry about my family. They understand you and Mommy wants to take you in," he said.

"Oh, don't! It's embarrassing for your family. Your help is enough for me and I really appreciate that," Eloise immediately refused.

"There you are! Don't be shy, how many times I tell you that you are also my family," George replied while squeezing her hand lightly.

George has been older with Eloise for five years so, she has a broader understanding of her.  They have only been in a relationship for two years and the young man is showing sincerity to her.  His kindness and understanding is what Eloise loves.

"Ahm wait, I remember what you told me before that you have a third eye. Until now, have you seen anything?"

"Huh? Why did you ask that?"

Eloise, shocked and surprised by her boyfriend's question.  She didn't expect George to start brooding about the matter.

"A-Ah... I just noticed that you have weird movements sometimes," he said.

Eloise's personality and ability is no longer a secret to George.  She had said this before she accepts the young man.  Eloise also just wants to be honest with her boyfriend.

"Actually, there is a soul approaching me. At first, I just dreamed of her. Since then, she has been showing up to me and in fact she is still next to you!"

George jumped up in the chair when Eloise told the truth.  George didn't know if he would be scared because he couldn't see it.

"Hey... are you kidding or scaring me?"

George looks around and tried to find the soul that Eloise is talking about.  But the normal human eye is unlikely to see negative elements.

"I'm telling you the truth. You know I'm not joking about that," Eloise replied seriously.

George hugged himself slightly as if feeling cold.  Back then, he wanted to avoid believing in such a story.  But he proved everything when Eloise confessed to him.

"Heck ... It's a bit scary. But by the way, what's her face?"  George asked curiously.

"Are you sure you want to know?"

Eloise needs to make sure George really wants to know what they look like.  Eloise worries that he might not be able to sleep after because of fear.

 "Of course!"

Eloise still seems hesitant to say the form of souls.  She was sure the young man would be scared.  For Eloise, it was normal for her to see ghosts.  Though it’s scary, but her faith in God who created the world was stronger.

"Don't! It's better not to know because I'm sure it won't get lost in your mind!"  Eloise's shaky said.

"It's a deception, but I'll respect your decision. Just tell me if the soul doesn't spare you. I have known doctor who can help you," George said.

 "Okay, thank you!"

"So, what are you up to now without your parents?"  George asked seriously.

At the age of twenty, she did not know where they would begin with her sister. She just had to find a source of income for their food supply.

They have no relatives in their area because his parents said that they stay away from those who know them, just to live quietly.

"I'll ask the neighbors if they need an assistant for any job. And I'm willing to work for Elena and I to support our needs."

Eloise sighed strongly, and she struggled to fulfill her obligation to her sister.  Even though it was difficult for her, but she could do nothing.

After Eloise's talk to George, they went to sleep.  The siblings slept there in their parent's room.  Meanwhile, George was in the siblings' room.

When Eloise's back to the bed, She felt sleepy, like her body was so tired all day.  She calmly closed her eyes.

 ***

With her blink and seemingly loud scream she heard.  Deafening noise that seemed like a strong wind. She felt she would be deafened by the strong wind.

She tried to turn her head left and right.  Not only that, but she did it over and over again and strained to open her eyes.  Slowly the audible strong wind faded, but what took its place at first was a woman's voice.

It cries, asking her for help.  She groped for the voice, where it was coming from.  She wonders how she got into a dense jungle.  The place is scary and seems so far away from civilization.

"I'm here, come here, come to me!"

She stared intently at a woman in white who called him to come over.  Eloise runs towards the woman because she wants to get away from the place.

"Wait for me. I want to avoid being here, I'm scared!"

She runs hard, but she still can’t reach the whereabouts of the woman calling her.  She gasped as she ran.  The woman seemed so far away, and she couldn't get close.

"Come on, come closer. I need your help. Bring me up here to this scary place!"

Eloise tried to run hard again. She poured all her strength to get to where the woman was.  She could think of nothing else but to get close.

"Oh' Lord, please help me!"  she shouted as he ran.

But in her run she suddenly fell into a deep precipice.  She could feel the body floating in the air.

 "Aaahhh ..."
