Chapter 1

Eloise thrown back on the bed and woke up in a dream.  She seemed to wake up in a real nightmare.  She immediately glanced at their small clock that hung in the perforated wall.

It was 3am in the morning, and she woke up just because of a strange dream.  She was held in her chest and the feeling didn't subside.  But her eyes widened when she saw a woman wearing a dirty white dress.

She just stared at it and tried to see the woman's face.  It was only then that she remembered the recent dream. She just turned her back on it and covered herself with a blanket.

She wants to avoid giving to pay attention to the things she sees.  Likewise, she is also accustomed to visible souls, but she could hear a voice that seemed to linger into the depths of her hearing.

"Help me... Help me! Take me up... I want to avoid being in this place ..."

Eloise suddenly got up by what she heard over and over again. She scoured around to see the ghost if were the voice came from. She was surprised to see the female ghost is next to her, and in between her sister Elena and her in the bed.

She tried to control herself, not scared, but she rolled over on the bed and was unable to sleep.  Only now did she see the soul interrupted her silence.  Usually, she just sees around but doesn’t bother her.

The next morning, Eloise woke up with the noise from outside their house.  She immediately got up and peered out the window.  She saw her sister Elena sweeping their yard, talking to George.

But she jumped up when she saw a woman behind her boyfriend, George.  The ghost that bothers her.  The woman took the broom from Elena and was about to hit George on the head.  She hurriedly out from the house and running closer to George.

 "George, stay away!"

She shouted at her boyfriend as she ran towards the young man.  The broom Elena was holding fell on the ground. Both George and Elena were surprised by Eloise's sudden scream.  But George only hugged her, thinking she was dreaming.

"Hey... just calm down! I think you are dreaming, is something bothering you?"  said George while caressing her back.

"Yes, Ely, I noticed you last night," Elena added.

Ely is Eliose's nickname, and this is what Elena calls her.  When Elena was little, she could not pronounce Eloise's name so, her sister used to it.

Eloise sighed.  They all know that she can see things around her that the normal human eye cannot see.

“It’s nothing, it’s just a dream that until now hasn’t disappeared from my mind,” she calmly replied.

Her eyes searched for the female ghost, but it disappeared again like a bubble. She closed her eyes for a while and took a deep breath. George continued to caress her back to reduce the excessive worries.

"Don't even think about it. It's just a dream and that's because you're thinking a lot," George said calmly.

"George is right, Ely. Maybe you're thinking a lot and even when you sleep you're already dreaming," Elena agreed.

Eloise smiled wryly at the two. She tried to forget the thing that is bothering her.  George, on the other hand, has a point in the meaningless dream.

During their conversation, their father, and mother came from the town.  Yesterday, they left to find something to eat for a month.  They also had no rice to eat, so their parents left and went to town.

But instead of food brought by their parents, they argue on the way.  Their mother screamed chasing their father who is walking fast into their home.

Elena immediately hid behind Eloise.  At her age of sixteen, she was afraid of such things.  So, Eloise hugged her sister and shot her ear so, as not to hear their parents arguing.

"Sshh... Don't be afraid. Cover your ears, so you can't hear them," Eloise told her sister, who was trembling with fear.

George was quietly listening to the couple's fight.  He couldn’t leave the two, especially they were both women.

Inside their house, Fernand was twisting clothes while Ana hugged him.  Fernand wants to leave his wife and children.  That's how Ana pleaded with her husband, but Fernand's decision was final.

"Have mercy Fernand, don't leave us and our children needed!"  Ana pleaded.

"I'm fed up with our life, Ana, my conscience is eating me up for the mistake we made before," Fernand replied sympathetically.

Fernand turned and pushed her.  Ana ignores the pain of falling to the ground, but she's clinging to Fernand's arm again. She needs to do to prevent it from leaving.  But again, Fernand pushed her down as he hurried out of the house.

 "Fernand!"

Eloise looked at their house when she heard her mother's loud cry.  At the same time,  her father Fernand came out of their house.  He was already carrying a bag, and he didn't even glance at the siblings.

"Father, where are you going? Are you leaving us?"  Eloise asked tearfully.

Fernand stopped walking and slowly turned to look at them.  Fernand felt reluctant to leave them, but he has a reason to do it.

"Forgive me, I just want to pay for the big mistake I made in my past," her father replied once, turning away.

Eloise's little tears fell.  She didn't expect that this would lead to their parents' quarrel.  Their father and mother argued frequently. But she couldn't understand was the reason for their dispute.

She thought that her father might have another woman, so he decided to leave them.  She could only feel George caressing her back while wiping her tears away.

Likewise, she restrained herself and didn't want to show her sister that she was discouraged.  Elena needs her more, especially now that their parents had a problem.

 "Ely..."

Elena sobbed softly.  She knew that her sister will hurt by what was happening in their family.  She could do nothing but support her younger sister.

They both winced when they heard their mother's loud scream. Throwing hard objects inside their house. Eloise wants to calm her down, but she is afraid to meet her mother's anger.  She couldn't bear it, even though she was very upset that her father had left them.

Eloise let go of her sister embraced when she saw her mother come out of their house.  She dared to meet it to calm it down.

"Mom, don't be sad. Elena and I are here for you," Eloise said.

"Your father had left us. I can't live without him," her mother's response.

Eloise just hugged her mother to let her know that someone still loves her even without their father. But what Eloise didn't expect was that her mother pushed her, and it doesn't seem to listen to her.

"Go away! Don't stop me. I'll find your father, and we'll both go home here!"  she growled at her.

Eloise froze in shock.  First time that her mother shouted at her.  They were treated well then, but gradually changed when the two started fighting.

"Mom, listen to me. I'm just worried about you, and you might get trouble in the way."

Eloise held her mother's arm again.  He still tried to prevent it from being desired.  She was afraid that something else might happen to her mother along the way, even though she was not in her right mind.

"Mother, rest first. Dad will come home too, I know he loves us. I know he can't leave us like this," Eloise begged her mother.

Her mother immediately ran away from her.  Eloise just sat down in pain.  She looked like a fragile object that had fallen to the ground.

She sobbed softly as she hugged herself.  Furthermore, she could not fully imagine that their quiet life would be like this. Likewise, she does not have any wish but a whole and happy family.

They seem to have deprived of a quiet life despite adversity.  Destiny seems to have tormented them with a family as a whole.

In her weeping, two hands supported her upright.  Tears welled up in her eyes when she saw her sister and George. She immediately wiped her eyes blurred with tears.

"I am still here for you. I will never leave you and Elena. Have the courage to face life's trials," George assured.

There, Eloise filled with hope.  Despite everything, they have someone who is ready to help to accompany their grief.  She was lucky, and she met George, who truly loved her and the brother.

"Thank you, I don't know where to get strength if you're not in our lives!"  Eloise sobbing replied.

George just gave them a sweet smile.  He is no different from them because the two will also be his family in the coming right time …
