Unexpected Marriage

"Hony, don't you want to go home yet?" I turned to Hannah when she asked me while we were eating at a Japanese restaurant.

"Mmm, why? Do you want to go home now?" I asked, but he shook her head.

"No. I mean, you? Don't you want to go home yet?" I frowned at her question.

"Where? To you? Will you let me in?" I asked, but it seemed like I was asking the wrong question because Hannah also thought wrong of what I said.

"W-wait, no!" I said laughing, as I shielded myself from her hit.

"Such a pervert!" I chuckled.

"I mean, at your house, Hon. Will you let me into your house? N-not yours." I scratched my head to correct what I said as my voice went lower, almost whispering.

"Whatever!"

"Pft, but no, I'm not going home," I answered, the reason for her to look and frown at me.

"What? And why? Did you forget that Cia is all alone in your house?" She sneered.

"I just don't want to," I replied.

"No, go home. Cia is alone."

"But, Hon.. just this night." I insisted.

"No. And when I say no. It means no. Think about your wife's condition." It was so hard to please her, that's why I put my fork and spoon down. Letting my body rest on the couch.

"I don't want her. I don't want to be with her and she'll never be my wife."

"Stop it. You're married, unwanted, or wanted, she's still your wife. Be responsible!"

"I still don't like her. Why do you even keep forcing me to be that woman?"

"Why are you also refusing, then?! She's your wife-"

"On paper," I added.

"She's just my wife in a contract paper, but she will never own me. Never. I don't care if she gets hurt. She deserves it anyway. She will suffer as long as I see her alive. She broke us before, so it will be a pleasure for me if she suffers too. "

"Tyron, watch your words!"

"What? Am I not right?"

"No, probably not."

"Yes, I am. You're just so kind, that's why you feel sorry for that woman." I spoke.

"Fine! Yes, I'm mad at her too. But Hon, listen. You don't have to treat her like that. I'm yours and you're mine again. So please, forget about it. Why don't you just forgive her? " I just gasped.

"Hon, remember, she's still a woman, like me. What if I'm in her position, will you still hurt her?" She asked again. I stared at him for a moment, trying to understand what she was saying. I know she's right and has a point, but I can't help it. I'm angry and I can't forgive her just like that.

— Memory from the past —

I smiled looking at the ring I had just bought. I can't wait to hear her say yes. I know that even if I haven't asked her yet, I know that her answer will be a yes right away, but I still can't stop my heart from rumbling with joy. It's been five years since I got her sweet yes, but this time. I need to hear her answer again but not as my girlfriend but as to be my future wife. I now plan to propose to her and she has no idea about my plan.

It's a surprise, though.

Even the place where I will take her later is already set, only her answer yes is just missing.

"Tyron? Son, come here." My attention turned to Dad when I heard him call out my name. I immediately approached him when I saw how beautiful the smile was drawn on his face. Dad knows about my plan. He knows I'm going to propose to Hannah and today is that day. I'm happy because he supports me with everything.

"Yes, dad?"

"Get dressed, we're going somewhere." Still smiling when it commands me.

"Where will we go, Dad? "I asked in surprise. But he just smiles at me. My two eyebrows meet slightly. If he was planning to suggest a better place where I should propose to Hannah. Not anymore. I already found one. I stopped myself from smiling in front of Dad. His smile is suspicious, that's why I know Dad is planning to do something.

What's with that smile, dad?

"You'll see."

"All right, get dressed quickly." In a hurry, I was confused by what Dad was doing. But I also quickly get dressed up, because I can sense that I would be happy with whatever he was planning.

After I got dressed, we left immediately at our house. It's just weird because, from our whole trip, Dad was just smiling.

Seriously. What's going on? What's wrong with my dad?

Is there something I do not know about? I’m used to Dad always smiling. But this one's weird. I can’t read what he was thinking. I admit that I feel excited because I feel it has something to do with my proposal to Hannah later. But there's a side to me being nervous.

When I felt that our car had stopped, I immediately darted my eyes at the building where we had stopped.

"GREAT HILVANO'S RESTAURANT?" I read the gold and black colored sign on the front of the building.

"What are we going to do here, Dad?" I confusedly asked.

Don't tell me this is the setting he chose where he wanted me to propose to Hannah? No way. Cheap.

"Just follow me, Tyron," Dad said, so I just obeyed as he said.

*Ting!*

I glanced at my phone for a moment and unconsciously smiled when Hannah's message popped up on my phone...

"Hey, hon. Where are you?" That question made me smile for a bit, I immediately typed on my phone to reply.

"Dad and I just went somewhere. I'll see you later." I'll reply. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling anymore because I was already imagining how happy she would be with my proposal.

"Alright, I will wait for you. I love you!" She replied, making me smile. I was just about to type 'I love you too' when Dad immediately grabbed it from my hand.

"Cellphones are not allowed, Tyron," Dad said. I was even surprised because his reaction was already serious. I have never seen his bright smile before. I didn't do what just happened, but I just let it go.

I'm sure Hannah will understand that I didn't reply right away.

"Good Afternoon, Mr. Collins." The old man who I think is in his mid 40's greeted my Dad with a smile.

Who are they? Will they be my accomplices in my proposal?

"Is he your son?" He asked Dad while looking at me, I saw daddy nod.

"Yes." He answered it while smiling.

"Come, take a seat." The woman looks like the man's wife. I looked at the woman with them who I think was just my age.

Who are they? I think Dad's effort is too much if even these people he made as a witness in my proposal to Hannah.

"This is my daughter. She's Ciara Hilvano." The woman in front of me glanced at me as her father introduced her to me, who is now smiling at me genuinely.

"He's Tyron Collins, my only son." Dad also introduced me.

'Wait, why do we need to introduce ourselves? What is this really for?'

"Hi, it's my pleasure to meet you, Tyron." My eyes darted on the woman's palm when she landed it in front of me.

"Ah, yeah. Same to you." I replied and held her hands while smiling awkwardly.

Can someone at least tell me what's happening? This looks suspicious to me and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable. Damn it.

"So, when's the wedding?" I heard Mrs. Hilvano ask while slicing the food in front of her. I frowned at her sudden question.

Wedding? Who the hell will get married?
