Chapter One
'Ding**' the sound of the elevator as it opened to the eleventh floor of the Harvey's Builders Industry. It was quite a unique sight, everything was so elegant, I could see my reflection on the floor, 'what is it made of? of course I wouldn't know, we barely had three square meals a day, poverty is a bitch.I walked around in circles as I admired the outstanding structure of the building, when I touched the wall it was unique, it was smooth, cold, finger censored. "Wow." "Beep beep beep." My alarm rang loudly, I brought my phone out of my bag. It was my 8am alarm.I quickly dismissed the alarm as it stirred up loud noise. When I looked up at the receptionist by my left, I noticed her eyes glaring at me, probably looking at my skimpy red dress.I didn't had time to change, as I came straight from the club.  Quite frankly, I forgot I had an interview today. Thank God for my mother who has her eyes out for the salary. Quite big for an

Chapter Two
I couldn't help but wonder why he would even had dreamt of walking close to me. But I felt good about it, from the smile on his face I could tell, he meant well."Hi" He said to me in a charming voice.I was still flustered and was feeling embarrassed. I could barely opened my lips to say anything. The only thing I wanted to do, was to run as far from there as possible. But then again, no backing out till I get rejected.  "Hello" He said to me again. I was lost in my thoughts staring at him. He probably must be thinking I was admiring him. He was good looking no doubt, but me admire him-hell no."Hello" I responded to him as soon as I was able to feel my lips.He kept smiling at me and sat on the desk right in front of me. I tried to let out a forced smile, it looked fake but he wouldn't notice it.No one could ever tell my fake smile from my real smile, it was one of the many mischievous talents I had."

Chapter Three
I have spent less than an hour here, and every minute I have embarrassed myself.  This day was definitely cursed. 'How could it go from worst to worst.' I had no idea what I would do, taking off the jacket will bring back my shame. I turned to look at the guy who gave me the jacket. He covered his eyes with his hand and bent his head. No doubt he was too embarrassed for me that he wasn't able to beheld the sight. At least he wasn't angry, the jacket looked quite expensive.  I took few more steps approaching the man at the front hall, his brows were furrowed and his eyes glaring at me. He was more mad than he were before. The other applicants kept making mockery comments. They mumbled among themselves, but my ears could hear them perfectly. It was as if they all had a speaker on their lips. Their mocking comment crushed me even more. 'I'm so in for it today.' I kept biting my lips as I got to where the

Chapter Four
I watched how other applicants went in for the interview. Some came out looking like they have been toasted, some others were pretty excited. I got more frightened seeing some of them looking sad and depressed. 'Holy crap' They are properly dressed but still came out like that, how about me that wasn't even dressed up for the interview.'I'm sure  I won't be able to pull this off.'"Andre, number 20, you are next." Yelled a man at the front of the hall.He had been yelling like that the whole time, his voice had started to crack. Before it gets to my turn, I might not even be able to hear him. Well, I hope not."Wish me luck." Said the guy to me. I was surprised, I have been with him the whole time and never asked for his name. He didn't even knew mine."Goodluck." I said to him.He smiled and walked to the seat next to mine. He picked up a file and when he opened it there were some documents inside, h

Chapter Five
This day finally made it to the list of 'most embarrassing days of my life.' I stood there like a statue, waiting for them to respond. One of the interviewer that was laughing, couldn't stop. It made me felt more embarrassed. 'How did I end up here.' All my life I have never been this embarrassed, and these, was the height of it. Yeah right, I looked like a joke, but give me some credit for being confidence enough to walk in here dressed up like this. "Can we begin the interview?" The receptionist said with a sly smile on her face.I could tell she didn't meant what she said, she just wanted me to get more embarrassed. "What interview?" Another of the interviewer said as he was looking at me nodding his head in shame.'Goodness.' I should have just went straight home from the club, But how, the club was in the city, it was closer to the company than it was to home."Ashley, I'm sorry but we cannot interv

*The day before the interview*Like every other day, I always stayed up late on bed, my mother was used to me, and my siblings wouldn't dare wake me up. Since my dad left us for a rich woman, well, there isn't much to say. He got tired of being poor, he found a ticket to a rich life and he took it. I hate him for that, he left us here with my mum, and never even supported with the bills. The day he ran, he just left a letter, my mum already suspected him, so she didn't bother searching for him. It had affected my siblings. Ana my youngest sibling, never wanted to get married, she only cared about money. To her, if she could become super rich and influential she would be able to get any man she desired. While Steven, he just never wanted to ever hurt his wife. He did cared

Chapter Seven
My mum dished out our meal and served us herself like she always does. Ana always offered to help, but mum would constantly reject her help. She was used to serving dishes, it was how she lived with my dad for 20 years. She would always dish his meals and some times they feed each other.Serving us made her fill that void in her heart, she was always sad but she tried as much to hid it from us. But the glimmer in her eyes had died out, since dad left us. It has been nine months, but his presence was still quite felt around the house. "Mum, I promise to go for the interview." I said to her as I placed my hand on her arm. She gave me a warm heartfelt look, and touch my head-"I know you will do great at the interview." Then she kissed my forehead. The little smile on her face made me felt a bit at ease. It wasn't as wide as it used to be when dad was around, but it better than the one she had during the month dad left us. Her f
