Separation
My cramps faded in and out like little Christmas lights, peppery and torturous and I wrapped my hand around my torso heading back to the pack house. It was all that stress, all the stress I've been enduring day after day that led to this. My face scrunched up in pain as another wave rolled in and I felt my stomach churn. If I didn't get an aspirin soon and knocked out, the pain would do it for me. My empty stomach contents rose to my throat once more, causing me to empty my throat at my feet. My breasts were tender, and swollen, my stomach bloated, it was just all together a horrible day. "Halie!" "Ahhh!" I screamed jumping at the sudden voice to my left finding Moi. "Oh for pete's sake Ammoy, seriously?!" Warm liquid flooded my pants then and I could only bawl. "Oh shit" "What's wrong?" She questions looking concerned which earned her a glare from me. "Oh nothing, just my period deciding to kill me today. Not that my mate and his supposed ex with his baby isn't bad enough. " "Y

"Let's go" I called to Moi heading towards the pack house. "Okay, " She responds. "Do you think they'll be able to stop the fire?" "I don't know. Let's hope so. " "They might have more problems, " I glance at her from the sides of my eyes. "If the fire is as large as I think it is, they might be able to see it from the back of my house. Someone might contact the fire department. " Moi didn't move to expound, but I knew what she meant without the need to say it out loud. Everyone would be placed at risk of being discovered. Others would know that just behind their houses, lived large wolves that were hunted by other humans. But I had to admit, that would only be the beginning of our problems. Neither of us were equipped to deal with wolves, add the fact that right now we couldn't tell friend from foe and you'll realize that we were already sitting ducks. "Help!" "Help! Someone, please help!" Moi and I paused, listening for the direction of the voice. "Please, anyone!" The voice

MOI This was bad. This was bad. This was so bad. I couldn't keep my mind from conjuring up the ways this situation was horrible. The timing, the fact that I had no idea the f***ing where I was going or what I'd run into. Or maybe the fact that once Rider got wind of Halie's complete disregard for his instructions, he'd have our head. Mine first, not so preferably. Everything was just horribly, horribly wrong. Gunshots rang out and I ducked, covering my head, not even sure of the direction it was coming from. The smoke was horrendously, smelly and just like a little hairball clogging my throat. My heart broke as I glanced around. Wolves laid on the ground dead and dying, guts spilled all over the place, silver embedded into their bodies poisoning them slowly. Others, crying for help. Humans, hunters torn to pieces. Everything was just horrendous. My feet paused, reaching a band of wolves fighting, fur flying all over the place as the animals wrestled each other? My eyes followed

Our own Ragnarok
Rider "Berserker?" Veron looks at me from the sides of his eyes disbelieving. "Aren't you the only one who's able to do that?" "No" I glance away remembering a very dark time in my life while training with my father. "When you're an Alpha you protect everyone, even the ones that you'd least expect" It was something I wouldn't forget-ever. When we were pups, Jax always knew he'd be the next Alpha, that was the tradition. But it wasn't the same for Beta's and Gamma's. We could either choose to follow in the footsteps of our parents or become fighters or omega's. Either way, we'd have to have a sparring match to determine who would have the title once a different wolf showed interest. Since Jax would be the new Alpha for our generation, he made it clear that he didn't want anyone else being his Beta, which was fine. Him being my best friend didn't seem like a tall order to ask for. Except maybe to my father I might have underestimated the task. Trainings we're brutal, irrespective of

A grim tale
RIDER I watched as he walked around zealous in his steps as I was. Only as much as we never reveled in blood, tonight for the sake of our pack I was going to enjoy taking him apart limb by limb. I crouched, shifting, my white fur glowing in the moonlight, watching him prowl around with weapon in hand. The moment he walked away from me, I sprung, tackling him into the ground. We rolled, him attempting to turn the weapon to pull the trigger, while I clawed at his face. His gun went off, the bullet grazing my skin and I lost it then; tossing my entire body weight against him, crushing him beneath me. Blood pouring from his mouth, arm twisted, still he persisted until I ripped the arm holding it from his shoulder, snarling. They all deserved death and everyone would find it at my paws. His screams filled the open air, and I could hear the cries of others as the second half of the war ensued. I dismembered his head from his body, then his only arm before grabbing his feet and tossing it

Two can play the game
RIDER My mother's neck and Luna Elaine's necks snap in record time, each woman staring intently at Sam, who's even more anxious at this point. "What?!" My mother screeches. "Sam? Is this true, are you pregnant?" "Um..." "Have you lost your mind?!" Luna Elaine chastises hardly. "Do you not want to have this pup?!" "I couldn't leave you all to protect me, " Sam says defensively. "I fight for myself. " "There won't be a -self, if you don't know the difference with being submissive and being subjected to. " "I can take care of myself," Sam counters. "Always have. " Funny how she was saying this now before everyone, when she was acting like a petulant child just days before hijacking my house, my space, my life. "I think you're missing the point," mother says. "Look all around Sam. There's barely a pack left standing. What's inside of you we can't even call the next generation? It's the only generation that's left. " "You're all worrying too much. I'm fine. Really, " she shoots me

Announcement
My arms were tired from being wrapped around my person so long, acting as a shield from everything. My feet were raw and sore from all that walking, as if we'd traversed the entire world and back. My thoughts plagued me, all in all it's been a horrible, horrible day. It had been a while since I heard the dying cries of the flames behind us, an indication of how sure my doom was. My helplessness was palpable as I thought about what I was heading into. I didn't want to be a Luna. I didn't want to be or become pregnant either. Especially not for a psychopath like Ragna. If I had one wish it would be to be back with Rider and everyone else. I'd take our arguments, hell even bunking with Sam wouldn't be such an impossible situation as opposed to this. The sun had long since set and we were still walking. I was starving, my menstrual cycle was still reigning triumphantly which only added to my depression. "Can we stop for a while?" "No. " "My feet are aching. " "We're almost there. "

Farce Luna
"Off with her head, " someone says behind me. What?! The crowd stills before me, all celebrations falling into hushed tones, while I swallow thickly. "There's no need to be mischievous Celene, " Ragna says without turning to regard the person. Soft patters echo towards me, before fingers thread through my hair. "Oh but she's so gullible" the woman whispers against my ear and my blood chills at her voice. "Let's give the new Luna a proper welcome. " her eyes do an appraisal of my body, before a small grimace lifts to her lips, as she turns back to her audience. "After all she's going to need a lot of help, to please our dear Alpha. " "Enough, " Ragna says and his voice travels over the large crowd, returning back their attention to him. "We will have a feast tonight. " He spins on his heels pulling me along while Celene walks alongside him dressed in the grim reaper's garb. I watch their interaction with mild interest. The way her fingers subtly cascade his arms, how she leans i

Poisoned
I attempt my best not to seem disturbed by Gale's announcement, but I'm fooling no one. I can't eat or sleep and even though my insides are being ripped to shreds, I can hardly care. I have no friends here, no allies, and the rightful heir to Ragna's side didn't like me as far as she can throw me, and the sham is even more violent. Moi pops into my mind and I pray to whatever deity, listening that she's safe. I know Jax will keep her protected, but only if they make it out alive. I shook my head berating myself. Of course, they'd make it out alive. They had a pack to protect and unlike this one, were close-knitted like an enormous extended family. Anxiety settles in once again, forcing my sinking fear to bubble to the top. I pace around the room wringing my hands, striving to think of a plan. Plan A would be rescuing myself and plan B would be to wait until Rider gets here. If he gets here, especially on time. Would he know where to look for me exactly? This was a terrible twist o

A step in the right direction
The wrecked packhouse is where we'll have the meeting, it's the only place that's left with a little privacy and right now that's what this meeting required, I suppose. Not that more secrecy would be helping our cause. The sight startles me to find Jax outside just a couple meters before me. Perhaps he wanted to spend as much time away from our parents as usual. With Oliver indisposed, it would just be us two. Like old time sakes. Yeah, maybe a few minutes of not getting our ears boxed about was good thinking after all. His head lifts when I come to stand next to him, releasing an exasperated sigh. "Doesn't look promising asshole. " His eyes lift once more to survey the area, giving out a light chuckle. "No it doesn't, but at least the women and pups are safe and we still have a camp. " "True, " I concede. "Mom wants them to return, but I think it's a horrible idea right now. " "Meaning, she wants to see Allison and know if her grandchild is okay. " "Yeah, " he nods. Jaxon go
