The Prophecy
Many millions moons back, there was a wolf Shaman. A priestess. She was among the many that lived in the forests for the fear of being discovered by humans and risked the possibility of being burned alive in the plaza. Her name was White Wolf. White Wolf was the offspring of two regular wolves that decided to leave the civilization to live among their own kind. She was now thirteen. She was born and raised there and she had not realized that she had the ability to see or channel the future. She had the ability to heal, but healing was not considered so special, since many of the wolves possessed that ability too. Her parents had two other children and all of which, had healing abilities too. White Wolf did not feel any special. The prophecy happened when it was a time most auspicious to wolves. Before a full moon. Like normal wolves, they were all gathered in the community plaza. Unlike the human inhabited communities, where the plaza is magnifice

Maxine’s POV  I bolted upright in bed. I was sweating from head to foot. I can feel that the sheets are also drenched in sweat and I did not like it. I feel extremely tired.The digital alarm clock on my bedside table says that it’s just four in the morning.  I needed water. My water bottle is empty and I need to go to the kitchen to get it refilled. I stepped out of my bed and removed the wet sheets. There was no chance that I would lay down on

Roses are red, visions are too
Maxine’s POV I don’t know about the other kids in school in Haven, is it just me or life here is just so slow and snail paced? I have been sitting in class for what seemed to be an eternity but when I take a look at my wrist watch, it had only been forty minutes and the professor is about to take over in ten minutes. I stared at my notes and stared at my doodles. A habit I developed since in primary school. Whenever I am bored in class, doodling keeps me entertained. After all, what the prof is teaching us is something I know and my previous teacher had discussed them already. “Hm, you are good with doodling.” An equally bored male voice said from behind me. I had zero intention of checking who owned that voice because maybe he was not talking to me. What are the odds of other students in my close proximity doodling? “I said, you are good with doodling.” Well, maybe he was talking to me. Should I say thanks or maybe ignore him full time? B

Formal introductions
“ That Shepard girl had no idea what she is.” Aron muttered as they stared at Max hammering on Kent. From their vantage point, everything was visible and they could see and feel her wolf aura. “Is it just me or do you feel it too?” “What?” Zayn did not remove his gaze at the unfolding scene. He did not want to miss anything. “Her wolf aura, even if it is locked because she does not know it exists, is so strong.” Wolves are special beings. Among themselves, they can sense the aura or the energy one has. The Alpha’s and Beta’s have a different aura. Auras have colors. Alpha’s and Beta’s give off bluish ones and to determine the strength, it varies on the vibrancy of the color, meaning the darker the hue, the stronger the aura. The regular wolves gives off a faint white aura. Maxine? Hers are freaking red. Zayn can see it. No wolf cannot deny the fact that hers was different from the rest of theirs. “Let’s go. You talk too muc

Grandma under pressure
Betty’s POV     That was close.   I did not even feel my own granddaughter was just nearby.Maybe she had some aura cloaking powers. Her abilities are quite peculiar and the funny thing there is, Max does not even know. Her change is slowly happening and I fear that she will freak out unless she was properly introduced to the wolfhood and  the Shepard pack.    When my husband died, Teresa was about to succeed him. In fact, it should have been earlier had she not went to hiatus. Her hiatus included giving birth alone and raising a daughter all by herself. It was our decision not to be involved of her whereabouts. She would just make a random call and inform us that she was fine. A few hours after she left, the Blacks paid us a visit and with the desire to know where Teresa fled, used a seer to make sure that we had no idea. Clay was a genius

Quentin Black
Quentin’s POV:  I had two offsprings. Cassandra, whom I have kept a secret, was from a witch lover I had even before I had met and mated with Clay’s mother. Leticia was all that I wanted in a woman. Smart, beautiful and takes good care of the people around her. Clay and Cassandra are well aware of one another and despite the huge age gap, the two are good friends and siblings to one another. Both of them are very special. I think that the universe wanted me to have the best kids but they are complicated as well. Cassie was born from a witch mother. She does not take after

Unraveling the truth
Betty arrived from the council meeting around three in the afternoon. Both Teresa and Max are not yet at home. When she pulled over in the graveled garage, she was on the edge. She wanted to blow off steam. No matter how he contemplated the circumstances that they are in, it all boils down to one thing. For Max to know the truth. Betty knew that if she won’t be the one to expose the real score to her, another Alpha will and it will be unacceptable. Max will hate her for lying. She is already hating her mother and hating her grandmother will be like a double strike to her emotionally and psychologically.Max will be needing every fiber of support she can get from them. She needed to run. In the woods. Her rage was off the chart and she needed the outlet for that. Running in her wolf form is the best idea she had came with. She does her thinking best when she is in her best state. And that is her wolf. The Shepard ranch

Pizza?
Max’s POVWell, instead of getting dinner, I guess I will be served with the hard truth tonight. I have a hunch that it will all boil down to my father. A person whom I have never met yet, here we are, looking like a bunch of card players ready to lay down their cards. The only downside is, I do not have a deck of cards to lay.I took a seat and braced myself for the worse. Because what is worse than not getting dinner at dinner time? “So, what are we going to talk about? I hope this will resolve the issue and would lessen your bickering on each other.” “Max, it’s about your father.” “Finally! I have been waiting for his name to come up for so long. I just did not want to push it, Teresa is not the talkative type.”My grandmother and my mother was not even laughing or scolding at my sarcasm. I was just fooling around because they were too formal and it scares the shit out of me. In the few days that we

Hesther, friend or foe?
“What do you mean that I have to train?” “Well, for starters you have to learn how to defend yourself in case they appear out of nowhere.” “Who?” “The Rogues.” My grandmother does not have the flair or affection for theatrics. Or maybe she was running out of time she was ditching the drama for a more straight to the point approach. I now wish that my mother somehow had acquired that no drama trait of hers and should have told me the truth before so now I do not have to deal with this crap. “You see, a lot of people are after you and now that you are almost eighteen..” “That’ll be in two weeks.” I snapped. I forgot that I am turning legal in a couple of weeks. “yes, as I was saying, these people will be drawn to you, like moth to a candle.” “But why?” “Because, you are the girl in the pr
