Dylan ended the training session early that day because he received a voicemail from Isabel, asking him to come home. There was something off about her voice which got him worried. He doesn’t know why, but he thinks whatever she has to say was important and probably urgent since she didn’t wait for him to get back from training. There was an unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach he was struggling to shake off, but it wouldn’t go away. Does this have something to do with Rodrigo’s sudden visit? Did he do something wrong? Was he softening towards the warriors to the annoyance of the former alpha? Of course not. He didn’t change the training patterns, neither did he cut the hours short. He only cracks one or two jokes with the warriors, to help ease their tension. All of these thoughts ran through Dylan’s mind as he drove back home. He parked his car in the driveway on arrival, not bothering to park it in the garage where it ought to be. ‘That can wait’ he thought to himself a

There was a large crowd in the house. There were pups, teenage werewolves, female werewolves and older werewolves present. The place was busy and chaotic until all eyes fell on Isabel. It was as if everyone turned into a statue the very moment Isabel stepped into the house. They all stared at her with bulged eyes and mouth agape like she just resurrected from the dead. Daniel had to clear his throat as a sign for them to come out of their dazed state. They bowed their heads to show their respect, but that didn’t stop them from still staring. “You can go about your business.” Isabel said in acknowledgement of their greeting, and like magic they immediately obeyed. Isabel was quite young compared to Dylan’s older brother, Daniel, but her presence commanded more respect than Daniel’s. “Why is there so much crowd in here?” Dylan curiously asked his brother because this was their dad’s personal house and not the pack house. “The pack isn’t safe anymore. Everyday, at least one of our

“Who is it?” Isabel irritatedly asked whoever was at the door, still straddling her mate. “It’s me, Jane.” Dylan’s mom’s muffled voice replied from outside the room. “There’s someone you need to see, Dylan.” She continued. “I have to go.” Dylan mouthed to his mate, making a gesture with his eyes for her to release his arms from her grip, which was getting tighter due to her growing anger. “I’ll be down in a minute.” He yelled so his mom would go away since Isabel wasn’t letting go of him. ‘Really?’ Isabel stared at her mate in disbelief. It’s one thing to be rudely interrupted during an intimate moment, but it’s another thing when her mate is in support of the interruption. Does he really not care about her opinion? Disappointed in Dylan’s attitude towards such a crucial moment in their lives, she quietly let go of his wrists and removed her weight from on top of him. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want my mom walking in on us.” Dylan explained, rubbing his wrists where Isabel trapped

It was almost twilight at the Greenwood pack, Dylan was downstairs assisting his mom and brother in sharing relief materials to the pack members when they heard multiple howls outside. “They’re here.” Daniel murmured to no one in particular. Isabel was alone in Daniel’s study, calculating how to go about this fight without endangering the members of the Greenwood pack so that her efforts to keep them safe doesn’t go down the drain. The sound of werewolves howling from a distance caught her attention, causing her wolf to become fully alert. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, getting her wolf ready for war. When she opened them back, her eyes had completely turned amber. Daniel was racing upstairs to inform Isabel that the rogues had began their attack, but stopped midway on seeing Isabel taking long strides down the stairs. “Alpha-“ “I know.” She cut him off before he could make out a sentence. “Are your warriors stationed at the different pack houses?” “Yes” “Good…

After several failed attempts to wake Isabel, a worried Dylan carried her bridal style and carefully placed her on his bed. He became alarmed when he saw multiple deep cuts all over her body. “How could you have been so foolish, Isabel?” He mumbled to his mate’s unconscious body, his voice filled with emotions. What is he supposed to do in a situation like this? He wondered, going into the bathroom to get a wet towel to clean her wounds. Xavi, who would’ve been of help to him is currently receiving treatment, and there’s no way in hell he’ll let anyone see his mate in this state, so how does he handle the situation? “Please, wake up.” He kept repeating as he wiped the blood off her slowly healing wounds. How will he live without his mate? They were just beginning to get along, now this had to happen. He shouldn’t have pushed her into helping his pack. Although they were his previous family, these people were mean to him when he had no mate. He should’ve let them solve their pr

As planned, Isabel and her pack warriors got up early to leave the next day since her work in the Greenwood pack was complete. Dylan was downstairs, probably saying goodbye to his brothers while Isabel was in his bedroom getting dressed in the new clothes Dylan got for her after hers got ripped the previous night during the war. She was wearing her lita ankle boots when someone knocked on the door. “Come in.” She quietly said, and the door slowly opened to reveal Jane, Dylan’s mom. She walked into the room with her head low, like she was scared Isabel would do something bad to her if she dared to look at her. She guess Jane was humbled by her authoritative aura. “What do you want?” Isabel sounded cold and uninterested. This was because Jane didn’t give her a good first impression, so she wanted to have nothing to do with her. “I’m sorry.” Jane humbly replied in a soft voice. “Sorry for what exactly?” Isabel raised a questioning brow because she honestly doesn’t get what Jane

By the time they arrived at the Pride pack, David, who Isabel and Dylan thought would be tired after their journey was very much hyper and wanted to walk around the Pride pack. To grant his request, Dylan decided to give him a guided tour of the Pride pack because he knew his mate would have some immediate pack matters to discuss with her dad. Isabel waved them goodbye and used their absence as an opportunity to get a room prepared for David. She asked Ingrid to make tacos, enchiladas and some dessert for Dylan and his little brother. “What about you, alpha?” Ingrid asked, because Isabel didn’t mention anything she’d like to eat. Isabel wasn’t in the mood to eat any food. Her thoughts were scattered and she needed some time to herself. “Just get me a bottle of tequila.” She replied. Ingrid was a little hesitant to obey her alpha’s order since her health was at stake, and considering the fact that she just returned from a warfare and was supposed to eat healthy foods to help revi

“How could you miss such a golden opportunity? That was our only chance!... Now tell me, how do we get her to leave the Pride pack again?” Ignacio indignantly accused the stranger sitting on a broken down chair in front of him. They were currently in an abandoned house located within the human territory. It was a safe hide out for the rogues, as the humans didn’t possess the same qualities as the werewolves. They could easily move around the area and go about their daily business without the fear that their scent would give them away. “I’ll get Isabel one way or the other.” The stranger said with a determined gaze. “If you couldn’t get it right this time, what makes you think you’re worth another shot?” Ignacio scoffed at the stranger’s wishful thinking. The stranger angered by Ignacio’s mockery pushed him hard against the wall, his palm pressed against Ignacio’s throat while his claws dug deep into his neck. “Watch your tongue old fool, or this will be your last breath.” He thre

“Xavi told me you handled the situation all by yourself.” Rodrigo began, as soon as he sat on his study chair. “I had to… There was no other way to prevent a disaster from happening.” “And are you aware of the consequences of your actions if something had gone wrong?” Isabel was expecting such a reaction from her dad, but he would’ve done the same had he been in her shoes. “I’m the alpha now, let me be the one to worry about my pack.” She gritted her teeth as she spoke because she didn’t want to get into a fight with the former alpha. “That doesn’t answer my question, Isabel. You made a reckless move out there. What if you didn’t make it back?” Rodrigo was equally trying to control his fury. He was consumed with fear when Xavi informed him that his daughter fought against the rogues all by herself. Why would she make such a rash decision without putting her pack first? And although he was told that her beast was in control, and they are unbeatable in that state, he couldn’t he

“Are you gonna visit me everyday?” A sobbing David asked Isabel, as he clung on to her tightly, preventing her from leaving him with Rodrigo and Paulina. “I can’t promise you that.” She honestly replied, but regretted it the minute David’s sobs got louder. “Okay. I promise I’ll come check up on you every other day, to see how much you’ve improved.” This time her reply worked like magic, as David’s sobs turned to light sniffles. “Really?” “Yes, really.” “What if you break your promise?” He asked, pulling away from the hug to look into Isabel’s eyes. The teary eyes and tear stained face of the pup standing in front of her and staring right into her soul, waiting expectantly for her reply made her think of ways to keep her word. It wasn’t going to be easy to check up on David since she now has a new task on her hands, but she also didn’t want to go back on her word and betray the young werewolf, who had so much faith in her. “If I can’t make it, I’ll have Dylan come check up on y
