Alastair Pov,

I got up from the chair near the hospital bed and grabbed my jacket from the chair. I threw it on and looked at Clara. She was still lying on the bed, looking at me with a mix of fear and confusion.

"Clara, I need you to stay here. Don't go anywhere until I come back. Do you understand?" I said.

She nodded slowly, but I could see the questions in her eyes. She wanted to know what was going on, who would do this to him, and why he was dead.

"I'll come back to you soon, I promise. But right now, I have to go and see what happened to Gabriel. Until now all our clues were leading us to him but now that he is dead we know there's someone else from the pack is there who might have been involved in the attack on you." I said.

She bit her lip and looked away. She didn't say anything, but I could tell she was hurt. She had thought of Gabriel as her friend ever since she came here. She is feeling helpless and blaming herself.
