Shattering her heart 

The next morning….

Lucy woke up and headed for the dining room, there she found Darren and Sharon, the both of them seemed to have started eating without her. Lucy felt really hurt to see this.

Darren's heart clenched with guilt as he caught sight of the hurt flickering across Lucy's face, but he quickly suppressed the feeling.

“So you now have your breakfast without me?” Lucy asked him, with tears welling up in her eyes.

"Lucy, I didn't mean to upset you," he said , his voice soft and apologetic.

Sharon, on the other hand, wore a smile that seemed genuine, and she extended an invitation for Lucy to join them at their table.

"Come on, Lucy, we'd love to have you with us," she coaxed warmly.

Initially, Lucy shook her head in refusal, but Sharon's persistence eventually wore her down.

"Alright," she relented, "I'll join you." As they all sat together, Sharon's demeanor changed, and she openly inquired about the nature of Lucy's mate bond with Darren.
