Twenty-Eight

Dinner the following night was a quiet affair. Yet the shadow of the brutal killing that had occurred at night stalked the atmosphere, making it difficult for anyone to talk or concentrate on anything else. It sat there like the Elephant in the room whom everybody tiptoed around.

Olivia moved her fork around her plate of rice and curry sauce to make it seem as though she was eating when she was not. It was impossible to eat with the imagery in her head.

Each time she took a forkful, all she could hear or see was the man being kicked and stabbed to death. How he pleaded for his life and was still brazenly, cold-bloodedly murdered by the man sitting across from her.

She could feel his eyes boring holes into her, but whenever she looked up, he averted his eyes away from hers. Too guilty to even hold her gaze it would seem.

She knew that Titan did not in any way regret his murders. He just might regret though, that he had an unnecessary audience.
