Chapter 36: More Deception

As soon as I recovered consciousness, I felt a piercing pain in my head. I rubbed the painful area and propped myself up. When my thoughts were completely clear, I recalled what happened.

I gritted my teeth and looked up. I thought I would see my father's hypocritical face but was met with the cold gaze of Irene.

This unexpected twist made my mind go blank. My expression paused for a moment. I looked around and realized that I was still in the small park. Beside Irene was the crazy guard I saw before I fainted.

I was shocked and looked at her in disbelief. "You saved me?"

"Liana, you'd better stay here and not run around. Don't always make trouble for Edmond." She did not answer my question. It was rare for her not to be arrogant, but her tone was still a little off. There was some impatience and a rare coldness.

I instinctively felt that something had happened to her. She changed too much and her current state was not well. Although being my rival in love, she was still a woman.
