Chapter Ten

The base at Unst was isolated and the island was beautiful, with long stretches of empty beaches where I could run and howl to my heart's content. The weather was atrocious, torrential rain and high winds battered the tiny island keeping the humans indoors but I revelled in it. Galloping along the beach as the waves lashed the shoreline I felt my powers returning as my heart healed. I will never forget the Commander he would be part of me always but I knew his Son had been correct it was time for me to move on. It took me another month to regain my full health and all my powers the Commander was pleased to see that gradually I began to interact with the Military Personnel based there. I would wander in and out of offices, the Mess Hall and even their Quarters letting them get used to seeing me until I became another shadow and they forgot I was there.
