Chapter 10

Rafe laid on his back, breathing heavily and experiencing excruciating pain. He had just taken a bullet to his heart. Mr Jones Vones had shot him and he fought hard for Ivy, even with that pain. He had been shot but thankfully, those were rubber bullets.

It still left him in pain and it would take some few minutes to heal but what he was more worried about was how to deal with Ivy. She had seen him turn from a werewolf to himself. He couldn't say it was a lie. He couldn't tell her she was hallucinating and neither could he tell her he faked it. What could he say?

He opened his eyes narrowly to observe his surroundings. Rafe found Ivy leaning over him, inspecting his wound.

Ivy had quietly crept into the room, carefully carrying a bowl of warm water and a soft towel. She had approached Rafe, who was lying on the bed and appeared to be unconscious. Gently, she placed the bowl of water on the side table and unfolded the towel.
