Chapter 9

Rafe had not seen Ivy for a week now and this bothered him a bit. He usually saw her whenever she was coming home from work but he hadn't seen her as of lately. He wondered why. He knew she was avoiding him but could she have gone all out to do that?

"Why am I looking for her anyway?" He asked himself as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. He often had conversations facing the mirror as though he really was talking to someone else who was also himself. It felt more comfortable that way.

He had managed to convince himself that he didn't like her and was just trying to protect her out of the goodness of his heart and the fact that she looked like his lifetime mate who had died. He tried so hard to believe that but it was speedily failing.
