Ted’s fingers brushed through Cathy’s hair. He didn’t even know he was doing that. It was an absentminded action that just seemed right.

He was lying beside her on the bed. Her face was tucked in the crook of his neck.

It had taken a lot of effort to convince Asher and Carl to let him watch over her. They didn’t trust him.

Ted was glad Noah wasn’t around to harass him. Chase had been able to convince his brother and Asher to let him stay with Cathy but if Noah was around, he would have fought him tooth and nail. Ted almost laughed at how protective the men were over the women in their pack even though they were more than capable of taking care of themselves.

He brushed Cathy’s hair from her face and looked down at her sleeping features.

Anthony didn’t lie when he said she was going to be asleep for a long time. Since she took the blood she slept through the day. Now it was midnight. She looked so beautiful and peaceful in sleep.
