LEVIMy ears caught the sound of a vibrating phone and my eyes flung open immediately. Was it mine? I pushed my hand under the pillow where I had kept it and found it the vibration wasn't coming from mine. It had to be Delia's. As I moved closer to get the phone, she turned, making some noises. Her hand got to the phone before me and she checked the caller. She sprang up, staring dreadfully at the screen. She turned to me but I closed my eyes before she could notice I was awake. She slowly crept out of bed and with one last glance at me, she walked into the small balcony. Was she planning some kind of resistance against me? Or was that a threatening call? I quietly got out of bed too and walked towards the door leading to the balcony, hiding the sound of my footsteps under the rug. "Why won't you just leave me and my family alone? I said I will pay you. Don't you get the fact that I'm trying to raise the money?" She asked sternly. This seems interesting. I couldn't hear what the
DELIA The softness of where I lay made me moan as I turned in my sleep. My body was so relaxed and it felt as though I was sleeping on a cloud. I stretched my arms widely and they landed softly. I raised my hand a little and it touched a fluffy pillow. My eyes darted open and I found myself in a dimly lit room and on a soft mattress. Where was I? Had we already arrived at Levi's place? How long have I been asleep? Those questions lingered on my mind as I got off the bed. I turned the doorknob and it opened. I appeared in a long hallway, not knowing where to enter. The hallway had many divisions. Why didn't sir Levi wake me up when we got here? After some minutes, I found a staircase that led to the down floor. I hurriedly went down in hopes I would see somebody but when I got to the living room, I didn't see anybody. Was I alone in this big place? I began to panic when I went to the kitchen and still didn't find anybody. I thought of calling Levi, and that was when I realized I
LEVI "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it." I stood transfixed, staring at the two watermelons before me. She buttoned her cloth stylishly and then looked at me. Before she could see me staring, I tore my gaze toward another corner. Hehe, don't wanna be caught just yet. "What do you mean by him wanting something? Didn't he agree to the deal because of the testimonies?" She asked innocently. If only she knew why he accepted the deal and invited us to his hotel to complete the transaction. "You. Mr. Anderson wants you." I confessed. Her eyes widened in shock, following a small parting on her lips. "What? Mr. Anderson wants me? What for?" She asked. I didn't know how to explain it to her, plus I didn't want her to change her mind about going to the hotel. "Never mind. I think it's all in my head." I turned to leave. "I'm sorry for touching you inappropriately," I said and began to walk out. I heard her rushed footsteps and I noticed her walking beside me. "It's fine, sir. I'm sure yo
LEVI I joked around with my friends, catching up on everything that had been happening in our lives since we all gathered months ago. Of course, they didn't leave out the marriage stuff. They made me explain how I met her and of course, I didn't fail to narrate the story Delia told my family at the first dinner. It wasn't entirely a lie. We did meet on the first day of college when she got into trouble with some rough-looking men because of her big mouth. "Wait, wait, wait! Shut up, bro." Hudson covered my mouth and began swimming to God knows where. My other friends left me and swam to the edge of the pool. I turned to see what caught their attention and holy mama!! The ladies walked out in their multi-colored bikinis, all chattering amongst themselves. Delia was the only person tying a towel and somehow, I wished she'd just removed that God-forsaken towel. "Remove the towel, remove the towel." Hudson anticipated seeing my woman's body but earned him a knock on the head and a de
DELIA I still hadn't gotten over the kiss with Levi. I kept on touching my lips on the way to the female changing room. The feeling felt surreal, it was hard accepting the fact that everything was real. I didn't think it would come to that. He took things too far. He could have just pecked my cheeks or even a light peck on the lips would do but he went as far as kissing me, even after giving that rule. As I got to the changing room, I pulled my clothes from the hangers and proceeded to wear them when I heard some commotion outside the bathroom. Tying my towel, I opened the door to see some armed men standing inside. What were they doing inside? Who permitted them to enter? "There she is." One of them pointed at me. My heart skipped a beat when he said that. Why was I being wanted? Before any of them could get to me, the girls stood in my defense. I felt relieved seeing that many of them standing in for me. "Move out of the way." One said sternly. "No, we are not letting you thr
DELIA My heart pondered in my chest as I listened to my mother speak. "She's such a fool for believing everything without properly investigating the situation and that's why we're going to continue using her till she runs dry and gives up on this world." Those words broke me, I felt hot tears run down my cheeks. I needed to see those involved in all of this. I dropped my bag, making sure the noise was hidden and then walked to the kitchen window. Gladly, it was open and I could see everybody inside. I covered my mouth to prevent myself from shouting. The people I called my family were there, the men that barged in requesting two thousand dollars and Mr. Fuller. There was money scattered on the table with drinks surrounding them. My heart which I had put back together after it was broken by Bruce shattered again into tinier pieces. They were all in it together and I didn't see the surprise coming. I walked back to my luggage and picked it up. They were right. I was such a fool for
DELIA "Hey, Charlotte Daniels, how are you?" I asked, sipping my drink and taking peeps at her protruding stomach. It would feel nice to have life growing inside of me, that is if I ever get married. "I'm fine. What about you?" "I'm good. What brings you to my table? Last I checked, you and I never crossed paths without sneering at each other but here we are, talking calmly like we were such great friends in the past. "You're such a killjoy, you know that? Why did you bring that up now? I knew this was a waste of time." She sighed. "Fine, I'm sorry. It just seemed suspicious. I see you got married and from the looks of it, you are doing well for yourself. Congratulations." I smiled. "Thank you, I guess. Yeah, I got married to the one person I couldn't stand in school." She shrugged and smiled. "Don't tell me. Weston?! You married Weston? What happened to the hot ladies you used to hang out with?" "The sexuality stuff was all in my head. I realized I just wanted to feel among a
LEVI "So, what are you and Delia now?" I asked the inattentive Javan. We were standing outside the hotel, just right beside my car. He was busy texting whatsoever on his phone and from a little peep, I saw it was Delia. We had arrived in Miami for our appointment a day back and today was the scheduled day for the long-awaited meeting. We were invited to a dinner party to discuss our idea pitch and Delia was still inside the hotel, getting ready. "Are you now deaf or she's now taking over your senses?" I asked, fuming with annoyance. The fact that he no longer paid much attention to his boss somehow hurt me. He was channeling all his attention to a woman, my assistant, and my future wife. I had thought about telling him of our arranged marriage but I didn't know how he'd take the news. He was probably in love with her and that would shatter his heart. He was my best employee and I didn't want to lose him because of a short commitment issue. "Me and Delia?" He asked, eyes still lock
