Chapter Twenty-Six

Cole’s POV

“I don’t know what you expect me to do. How am I supposed to marry when I don’t have a woman I love and I don’t desire either?” I gave up, looking away from him as I felt my heart burn with pain and anger. “You’re putting us all in misery.”

“I don’t know, but you have to marry Shannon, all three of you. I trained you all to be gentlemen and custodians of tradition. I am going to give you and your brothers a few weeks and after that, I am going to take away your inheritance. You will wish you listened to me in the first place instead of being complete and total brats.”

I nodded without taking another glance at him. The man had no heart. He was part of the reason I never wanted children because I would hate for them to feel the same way I was feeling about my father. I wouldn’t be able to stand them hating me the way I hated mine.
