Everything has been a whirlwind since I received the call about my father. The news hit me like a ton of bricks, and I rushed to be by his side. Megan was there too, regardless of the tension between us.

As I sat in the waiting room of the hospital, my mind raced with a thousand thoughts. I had been under a lot of pressure lately, becoming the permanent CEO of McCall Enterprises, and to top that off, my relationship with Megan had become complicated again.

I glanced at Megan, who was lost in her own world. Her eyes held a mix of concern and uncertainty. Regardless of our marriage contract and the fake nature of our union, I couldn’t deny the emotions that still lingered between us.
