Chapter Forty

Ever since the night from hell, Daykan had kept a low profile; lower than usual.

He had stayed at the estate but rarely left his apartment or went on pack runs.

He had skipped out on pack meetings as well and no one had questioned him. Lacan understood the situation and just left him alone.

Lacan thought of him as a frightened puppy and any wrong move could scare him away.

Daykan would do more when he was ready.

He only left when he needed to go to the gym and headed straight back home.

The hospital was the first public place he had been to on the estate all week; kudos to Senina. She had basically dragged him out with her little stunt.

Till now, he was still trying to come to terms with the subtle changes that had been happening.

It still felt like a dream that his uncle and pack had stood up for him.

Word about Xinoc’s little speech had spread and some residents were slowly realizing that Daykan wasn’t as bad as they had made him seem.
