Looking confused, Miranda did not understand where Lady Loretta was driving at.

"I don't understand, Ma," Miranda said. Lady Loretta offered her a warm smile.

"I know that you're not happy about what Derrick stated about the lower-class families. You shouldn't be annoyed with him. It is one reason you shouldn't eavesdrop on other peoples' conversations." Lady Loretta emphasized.

"I am sorry, Ma," Miranda offered her apology, with her head bent low.

"It's okay. Come sit here. You know, I have always wanted to speak to you about this, for a very long time. But I haven't had the chance to discuss this with you," Lady Loretta added. Miranda finally raised her head up and looked at the older woman.

"I should come and sit beside you?" Miranda had to repeat the question to be sure she was not hearing double.
