23_ Begging Miranda

"Nothing? Has Alex or Derrick arrived from work? I heard the car sound?" Lady Loretta inquired of Miranda.

"Yes, Ma," Miranda said, wondering if Alex had gone to his room directly. Lady Loretta could have seen him there.

"Miranda, are you sure that you're alright?" Lady Loretta asked again.

"Yes, Ma. I am fine," Miranda said as Lady Loretta settled on the black couch in the living room and waited for her children.

"That's fine. Send for the cook to warm our meals," Lady Loretta dismissed Miranda as Miranda left for the kitchen.

Derrick immediately called Alex's phone and summoned him upstairs after moving away from the balcony to his sitting room.

As soon as Alex entered the exquisite parlour, Derrick queried him, "Haven't I warned you to stay away from my mother's maids?"

Derrick was angry as he interrogated Alex in his sitting room. His anger was evident as he was still irritated on seeing how Alex held onto Miranda's wrist.

"I know, uncle. But I was just speaking to Miranda.
