Chapter 12

GIDEON held her hand, making her flinch uncomfortably. With just a touch of their skin, voltage surged once more through her body. She was no longer as shocked by it, though, as she had been before. He pulled her gently toward the rows of tables, one hand holding a plate of food.

He put the plate on the table where he was sitting earlier. There were two other people there looking at them when Gideon pulled a chair for her.

The woman smiled at her and held out a hand. “I’m Amara Stephanie Almeradez.”

Lyzza shyly accepted her hand. “Lyzza Pacammara, Ma’am.”

The woman laughed with amusement at what she said.

“Just call me Amara or Steph. You can drop the ‘Ma’am’. We both look to be about the same age, don’t we?”

She gave the woman a nod and a smile in return. She seemed nice, and their looks were somehow the same. Lyzza laughed to herself when she thought about it.
