By the time I woke up the next day, William had already left for work. I lazily reached for my phone and started scrolling through my contact list searching to find Shayna’s number. Once I found it, I dialed and listened to it ring.

She picks up almost immediately. “Oh hey Mrs Armani, so nice of you to finally remember me.” She said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes. “Come on Shay, we texted each other just yesterday.”

“Can’t I be dramatic in peace?” She asks rhetorically. “What’s up?”

“I’m good, I’m good. What about you? Are you at work?” I ask, hearing ruffling on the other end.

“No.”

“No?” I repeated feeling baffled. “I don’t understand. Today is Monday, the first day of the week.”

“No kidding Einstein, I know my weekdays.” She replies and I could already imagine her rolling her eyes on the other side of the line. “I took a day off.”

“Oh, why?” I ask curiously.

“Because…….” She drawls with no intention of elaborating.

“That's not even a reason,” I reply laughing, she joins in with
