CHAPTER 137

I slowly opened my eyes, blinking as I tried to get accustomed to where I was. Sitting up slowly, I yawned and ran my hands through my hair. I had somehow unintentionally fallen asleep on the balcony.

I stood up, stretching my body as I felt discomfort from sleeping in an uncomfortable position for so long. I headed back into the room, locked the balcony doors, and glanced at the empty spot on the bed. My eyes slowly went over the empty room before finally landing on the clock.

Why wasn’t William in bed at midnight? I thought worriedly as I stared at the bed. Maybe he was caught up with work and had lost track of time.

First, I walked to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth before changing out of the clothes I had on, switching them for my comfortable pajamas.

William still wasn’t back and for some weird reason, I was feeling quite uneasy. I paced back and forth in the room numerous times, waiting for him to walk through the doors but he didn’t. Maybe he lost track of time
