CHAPTER 136

I stirred gently in my sleep as the burning rays of the sun peeked through the window, spilling its light onto the bed. I pressed a pillow on my face and let out a loud groan.

“Argh! Why must William always lift the damn blinds before going to work?” I mumbled to myself, pushing the pillow aside, I sat up and rubbed my eyes groggily as I tried to get a read of the clock which showed a few minutes after nine.

Yawning and stretching, I finally got out of bed to start my day. I spent the next twenty minutes showering and dressing up.

“Good morning Bailey. How was your night?” Agatha asks as I walk into the kitchen, taking a seat on the stool and placing my head on the cold kitchen island.

“You know, the usual. How was your night?” I asked as I watched her folding napkins.

“It was nice. How was your trip? How did Williams' product launch event go? Did everything go right?” she inquires with concern as she stops folding the napkins and focuses her attention on me.
