“He sent that?” Jennifer asked with furrowed eyebrows, a look of doubt on her face. “I don’t believe you,” she confessed.

“Ugh! Doubting Thomas!” I groaned and quickly picked up my phone from the counter in the sitting room.

I had just told her of the message Mr. Blackwood sent me last night. Why would she not believe me?

“Here!” I said and quickly opened the text box, but then I crumpled my face in confusion. The message was gone?

“Where is it? Come on, show me!” she said excitedly, clearly in a mood for gossip.

“Um… it is gone!” I said and scratched my head. “The son of a bitch had disappearing messages set and I didn’t realize it earlier, the message has vanished on its own!” I screamed and turned the phone to Jenny for confirmation.

“Uh!” she groaned in disappointment. “A guy who puts a timer on his messages, now I see why you hate him. But are you certain you weren’t imagining that text? Because I really doubt the guy you have described for me all this time would send that?”
