Chapter Sixty-Three

Carter and I were leaning against the railing at the front of the Mary Lynn. We had cuddled naked on the couch upstairs for a bit, but now we were enjoying the view of the moon reflecting off of the water. It had gotten late, but was still warm enough so that we were able to enjoy the weather wearing nothing more than our swim suits.

Everything had been so perfect that evening. The swimming, the flirting, the sex. It was amazing. Still, though, despite all of that, something was on Carter's mind. I could tell that he was deep in thought. Even though it probably wouldn't have been obvious to most people, it was apparent to me. He was quiet and the positive energy that he usually had seemed a bit tired and forced.
