Chapter 21: Meeting Bruno

On the morning of the day she had to transfer ownership to Andre, Matilda was woken up by several calls from Bruno, the second Graham son. She waved the bulk of her dark hair to the back as she reached out for her phone.

"Bruno?" She was rhetorical. Ever since the reading he had never contacted her and she had resolved not to have anything to do with the family again.

Free for lunch today? Read the message that popped into her phone. She was hesitant as she didn't know what to say to him. She tossed her phone aside and strode into the bathroom to freshen up. She needed to get to the office at 10 a.m for the transfer of ownership. It was a good day for her and all the burden she had felt all along had been lifted. She was debt free now and the taste of freedom was green as life.

She packed her hair into a porny, picked a tiny little bag which she hung across her shoulder and pecked her lips with a white lip gloss before leaving.

The moment she got into the building, she sighted Jame
