Chapter 29: The new neighbour

Her eyes widened in shock seeing Lena standing in front of her door. She was the least person she ever expected to run into but here she was, a smile on her face and some cookies on a plate.

"Hello." She said after some seconds of hesitation.

"Uh... Sorry to come by this late but his was my only chance to say hi to my new neighbour." She said innocently and Matilda wondered if Lena didn't recognize her now or if she was just pretending. "I live just next door."

"Oh...." Was all she managed to say, she was still confused on how to react. Lena was Andre's former sugar baby and this had to be more than a coincidence that they lived just next to each other. How was she going to take it if she found out that the girl who had taken her place was the lowlife waitress?"

" So can I come in?" She asked excitedly brandishing the cookies in front of Matilda."
