October breathed hard, trying to get her racing heart rate under control. She could still see the way they were looking at her, the hunger in their eyes.

Out of anger, she hit her fist against the wall. Thinking that there has got to be a way out, she hated the castle more and more every day. And she was having mixed feelings towards Alistair. He hated her, but she could feel herself falling in love with him. Which was odd because of how he was treating her.

Tears formed in October's eyes as a knot of homesickness twisted in her stomach. She let the tears flow at that, thinking about her life back home, wondering if anyone was looking for her.
