The next day, I requested Jackon for a man-to-man talk in my apartment before we could head to school. "What this is about that we need to talk as early as six in the morning, huh?" Two days before the expected attack, Jackson, Simon, and I walked through the streets of New Orleans and were constantly reminded of the dangers that lurked in the shadows. In just two days, the city was set to be attacked by vampires, and we knew that we had to do everything in our power to prepare for the worst. We decided to visit some of the houses that were located beyond civilization, hoping that we could encourage the inhabitants to go to school and learn how to defend themselves against the vampires. Some of the residents agreed with us and were eager to learn how to protect themselves and their loved ones. Others, however, were reluctant to leave the safety of their homes, even in the face of imminent danger. As we walked from house to house, we were greeted with a mix of skepticism and fear. After it felt like an eternity, I lifted half of my body and growled like a bolt of thunder. The feeling was as if I have been drowning at the bottom of the ocean where I can breathe and finally, I was lifted above the sea level. I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the bed in someone's room. When I glanced at the four-sided wall, I realized that I was in Karen's soundproof condominium unit - back in my room. "What happened to me?" I uttered to myself while examining my arms, face, and down to the wounds in my left abdomen. The wound was still there causing my wolf to moan and gritted my teeth at the same time. We both exchanged a glance and before we could say anything, Mr. James spoke up. "I suppose you're wondering why I called you both here today," he started. Then he moved out of his seat and slid to the glass window, pointing his sharp gaze outside heading to the rugby field. "But before we begin, I want to clear the air. The other day, when we bumped into each other outside the campus, it was due to an urgent matter. My intention was not to hide but to ensure the school's safety." Karen and I were both skeptical of what he was talking about. But we both had the same question in our minds. "What do you mean by the school's safety?" I asked him, still trying to comprehend his words. Mr. James hesitated for a moment and then he said, "I'm not an enemy here, Melvin, Karen. But I cannot deny the fact that we have a common enemy- the monsters that are lurking in this city. We are all werewolves to some extent, and we are unaware of our potential. But I believe we can wo

To our surprise, the woman hissed at us. I felt my heart rate increase as I watched the woman transform into something - a chimera taking place. Her body was contorting and changing, her skin stretching and taking on a scaly appearance as she grew claws and teeth. I stood up and addressed the other students in the room. "Everyone, please listen to me. Something is happening here that we need to take care of. I need you all to leave the room and stay in the hallway until it's safe to come back in." The students were understandably frightened, but they quickly got up and made their way out of the room. My wolf could even hear their footsteps echoing in the hallway as they left. Once the other students were gone, Jackson and I turned our attention back to the chimera. It was now in its final phase. As the chimera began to grow in size, we realized that we could not confront it head-on. We needed to find a way to trap it and contain it before it did any damage.
