SOPHIE’S POV Days passed but in the kingdom, it was as if a hundred years had passed after King Magnus died. It was scary and with the way things were going, it was only a matter of time before the Lycans would protest against the new king and if that happened, things would go sour and many things would be ruined. If I believed Magnus’s death, I wouldn’t have been this bothered. I might even instigate the protest so that we could get rid of Luke but I knew Magnus was alive and he would return to his castle one day. I was waiting for him patiently while looking for ways to help him preserve the kingdom. All Luke does these days is training, he spends the whole day training all the men in the kingdom for the upcoming war and this causes a rift in the kingdom. Things weren’t going well but he did not care. The war was getting closer to each other and soon, he would lead our men to the battleground. I had been thinking of ways to stop him but nothing was working and in the end, I decid
SOPHIE’S POV The plan has been set in place and the next thing was to carry it out. The first thing we wanted to do was find out where King Magnus was last seen and one of the Elders volunteered to find that out for us. I returned to the castle with this thought in mind and I was more anxious than ever. When I started thinking about how to bring King Magnus back, it was okay and I loved the thought but when the plan had been set in place, the reality hit me and the fear of truly losing him was slowly overwhelming me. Without knowing, a tear trickled down my face but I quickly wiped it off. It would be okay, Magnus wouldn’t leave me like this and I was sure of what I felt in my heart at the moment. I returned to my room but the night was longer than usual as I couldn’t wait for the Elder to call me and report back to me. My heart wouldn’t stop racing and sleeping was difficult. I kept thinking about many things until the light shone on my face and I could see it was morning already.
MAGNUS’S POV I bit my tongue so hard that blood came pouring out and to aid the blood, I also bit hard on my lips, bringing out more blood. The men were bothered and because of this, they started shouting my name~ “King Magnus! King Magnus!!” I heard the shortest guy's voice and for a moment, I wished to open my eyes and tell him to shut the hell up so he wouldn’t risk exposing me on early for nothing but I knew that would be stupid of me. He was nicer than the usual stereotypical goons and rather kind to me a bit but he was still one of them and to save his ass, he might not think twice before selling me off. Why would I even trust someone like that? It wasn’t part of me and it would never be but I had registered it in my mind to help him if I ever come across him in the future to repay him for being such a nice person. “Hey! Are you okay?” I heard another voice and I knew it was the most quiet of them all that talked. “I’m not. The man is about to die. No... maybe he’s dead?” Th
SOPHIE’S POV “Do you have an idea of where they took him?” I asked the man who was already sweating bucket. He probably wasn’t expecting what happened to him but for some reason, I wasn’t feeling bad either as I felt like he got what he wanted. He wanted to flirt with a woman even though he might have a woman at home. Seeing the man reminded me of Magnus who had me at home but still came to a club filled with strippers and even took one to a room. The man told us he entered a room with a strange woman who had been acting suspicious in the club for days. The man got curious when he saw the lady entering a room with a handsome man and decided to follow but he was shocked when the door opened later and he saw the lady leaving alone. He was still curious, so he continued checking the door and soon, he saw the man whom he described and with the description, I was sure it was Luke. He said the man entered alone and came out with Magnus who was looking very weak and drunk. “I couldn’t
SOPHIE'S POV"Alpha Jax?" I asked in disbelief. After what he did to me, what right did he have to visit the castle again and even ask about me?I thought I had heard wrong but the nod of the maid reminded me that I was right and in the castle was someone I would hate to see. "Why?" I asked the maid. She looked around for a while, her eyes were filled with confusion "I have no idea, My Queen." She replied. Of course, how would a maid know the reason someone as treacherous as Jax visited the castle all of a sudden? He was someone who once tried to ruin me after all. "Tell him..." I paused as I thought of what to say to him. I didn't want to see him, I didn't want to go and meet him there... Also, the last thing I wanted was for Luke to see us together as I knew how angry he was back then. I sucked in a deep breath and shook my head "Tell him I will be there in a few minutes." I replied and the maid left my room. I paced up and down in my room, thinking of the best way to counter h
SOPHIE POVI stared in shock at the decapitated hand that rolled on the floor. There was a stream of blood that gushed from the stump that remained. I could see Jax's shocked face which mirrored mine. We both hadn't expected it. It had happened so quickly.“What the fuck,” He finally shouted backing away and spraying rivulets of blood as he moved making the place more messy. “You cut off my hand!”“Consider this a friendly warning, you won't get off this easy next time,” Luke said kicking the hand on the floor away from him.Jax bent down and picked it up, I could see the effort it took him to do so because I could see that he looked dizzy. At that moment, I felt bad for him and wanted to reach out to help him. I shook off the thought quickly, it would only make things worse for everyone.“That should teach you never to come back here again. You expect her to take you back after all you did.”We watched him back off slowly, his gaze flitted from Luke to the hand he was holding and then
MAGNUS' POV We've been planning on how to take down Luke for a while now but being rash with it was something we avoided at all cost. We made different plans and collected ideas from every one of us until we were finally able to choose one which was mine. "We will do this, right?" I questioned as I looked at their pleased places. These men did not start as mine but through daily interaction and coming together, they had grown used to me and respected me as a leader. They would do everything I said even though I always asked them for their opinion too because I knew their life was in danger too. Following me meant death for each of them and thank goodness they all knew that but still decided to follow me anyway. According to one of them, he said he would rather die a soldier than get killed while being used by someone as treacherous as Luke. It was nice to hear and it boosted not only their morals but mine too. It was a different story if I was the only one facing Luke because no m
SOPHIE'S POV I sat down, thinking about what to do and what way to go about my situation when I heard footsteps coming toward me. I wondered who it was as it had been a while since someone visited me this way and I was curious to see who it was. The footstep got closer and closer until I could finally see who it was. "What are you doing here?" I asked coldly as I glared at him. The last person I wanted to see was Luke and it was annoying to see his face. The fact that he got me locked in this room was enough to make me want to pluck out his eyes and feed them to the dogs. He stared at me for a while and chuckled "I can't believe you are still so strict although you are behind a cell." He mocked as he looked around and signalled for the guards to leave. "Oh, did you think I would become fearful just because you locked me here? You are someone that can't defeat me, no matter what you do, I will always find my way out somehow and you are the loser here." I said to him with my eyes
