SYBIL EAGAN POV

Today had been really crazy, and it felt all the more daunting now that Dian wasn't by my side. But we'd agreed that I would talk to my friends without him there since I knew just his presence would aggravate them, especially Zach, and we'd end up fighting instead of talking.

The parking lot was quiet, so I was sure I'd managed to evade the paparazzi. I opened the car door and stepped out of it, then stopped as a woman approached me.

She stopped in front of me and I blinked, recognizing her.

"Helaena," I said and she took off her glasses. Her eyes were red-rimmed as if she'd been crying for a long time.

"Yeah, it's me, Sybil. I saw the news" she said and I felt a pang in my chest.

I wanted to say something but I didn't know what to say to her.

"Are you two really back together?" she asked and I nodded.
