He recoiled back into the leaves and waited again for the wolves to leave the woods.

They left, and they left the woods in no time at all to take his father home. All of the wolves left and none remained back to hunt. Jake hurriedly climbed down the tree and ran off, heading to the pack.

The man was brought back to the pack and taken to his home. The arrow was forced out but the wound was blackening due to the poison. The Alpha was taken to his room and the three elders were in there with him, taking note of his last wish. The Luna did not cry, it was not in her place to cry. She was the strongest female werewolf in the pack, a mother figure and expected to be strong.
