CHAPTER 90

The room was as quiet as a graveyard, with Alex looking outside the window and Bagdana standing behind him, silent. How many times had he wished he never met this man? A million times today.

In fact, too many to count.

"This is your fault, you know."

"My fault? I couldn't hold it all in and then get blamed in the future for causing damages worse than this. You can't push the blame on me."

"Your words sent her over the edge. I'm afraid I'll lose her."

"You told me you wanted to protect her! If you really do, then letting her know about this soon is safer. At least, she knows she should be on the lookout for danger. You know how this works, don't you?"

Alex snorted, went over to the mini-bar from across the room, grabbed a bottle of wine, and began to pour it into a small glass cup. He downed the drink and banged it on the wooden furniture. "You know it's hard to comprehend."
