CHAPTER 21: LITTLE GUY

LILITH’S POV:

Green eyes stare back at me with an intensity that makes it so hard to look away from them.

There’s a fluttering in my chest that suddenly snaps me out of whatever trance I’ve been caught in, and I force my eyes away from him.

But he suddenly holds onto my chin, forcing me to face him again.

“How do you feel?” He asks.

Oh. He was just checking how his property is and nothing more. A feeling of discomfort forms in my chest and I pull away from him again, sitting up.

“I feel fine.” I say, avoiding his eyes. “What happened last night?” I ask now.

There is a moment of silence where he doesn’t say anything, so I’m forced to look at him. He’s watching me with this weird look on his face, like he wants to say something but decides not to.

“You had a sudden fever. The pack doctor said something about stress.”

“Oh.”

For some reason, it feels so hard to look him in the eyes as always without my cheeks flushing so hard as memories from minutes earlier flash through my mind.
