CHAPTER 41: PUNISHMENT

KAIN’S POV:

I manage to go through the tiring meeting with a few of the elders and fall back against the rest of my chair, letting out an exasperated sigh.

In only a few hours from being absent from my seat, it seems as though the amount of work to be done has only tripled even with Ivan overlooking most of it while I was away.

It’s stressful but I guess I don’t regret anything. The brief moment away from the desk had been exhilarating in its own way.

Lilith by herself alone offers an experience like none other. Like a breath of fresh air that infuriates yet grips your entire attention, leaving you speechless and unable to look away.

But that temper of hers… It’s almost as bad as mine. That alone inspires some sort of desire in me, pushing me to rip her apart.

There’s a sudden resounding knock, thudding loudly at my door. It suddenly gets on my nerves.

I groan, rubbing at my temples from the never ending things I have to deal with.

“Come in.”

The door is practically thrown wide open.
