13. Can't Resist His Charm

“We are not mates, Lais. Don't even think about it." His harsh words pierced my heart with thousands of needles.

“I know. It's just that I feel sparks between us. I don’t know why but it confuses me sometimes why do I feel this way.” I said looking down at my lap not wanting to face anyone. It was such an embarrassment.

Before he could say something I got up from my seat. “I'm done." With that saying I walked out of the house to go to the garden to have some fresh air.

I moved to the swing and sat on it. It was soothing outside but there was inner turmoil inside of my heart. "I'm sorry.” I heard Alaric's voice from my side but I didn't look up at him nor I said anything in response.

"I thought you like him so I wanted to make chances for you to spend more time with him. I didn't think things would turn out like this.” He sounded guilty so I forgive him.

"It's not your fault brother. It's just that I don't have luck in relationships. My fated mate had an affair with my
