Kayla's POV.

"I'm so sorry, princess!" I sobbed softly, tears streaming down my face.

Filled with regret and pain, I couldn't shake the realisation that I shouldn't have done any of what transpired back then.

From the moment of letting go to the decision to run away, and the haunting act of ending my mother's life; each regret echoed in my mind.

Sniffling, I continued to gaze at Adora in my embrace when suddenly, she stirred awake, but not in the serene manner I had hoped for.

Instead, she woke up with a sudden cry, adding to the emotional turmoil that engulfed me.

"Ouch, my leg!!!" Adora exclaimed, sitting up abruptly, causing me to shift my gaze immediately. I quickly wiped away the tears in my eyes, not wanting her to notice a single thing.

"Watch where you place it then!"
