"Daddy, hurry up! Hurry... Mommy is going to die!!" Adora's panicked voice echoed through the phone the moment I answered, sending a shock of urgency through the conversation.

A surge of adrenaline coursed through my veins upon hearing her words. The fear of losing Kayla gripped me, causing my eyelids to redden, and my eyes widened in a mixture of panic and distress.
