EPISODE-5

DAELYN'S POV

I groaned as I shifted around in what seemed like a soft bed. A sharp pain shot up my spine and I remembered what happened before I passed out.

"Ah." I groaned as I sat up.

"Are you alright baby. Does it hurt anywhere?" Alastair asked me, I could've sworn that I have died because he looks exactly like an angel.

"I'm okay." I said with a fake cough trying to clear those thoughts from my mind.

"I'm really sorry baby doll, I didn't mean to ignore you that day. It was a really important moment and I know you hate being ignored the most." He rambled on and I know he's blaming himself for all of this. He's guilty about that and he only rambles like this when he doesn't know what to say.

"It's alright, but I'm not letting you off the hook, mister. I have warned you about my birthday." I said as I straddled him, to be honest I didn't like birthdays because they were a constant reminders that another year had passed after I was abandoned.

"I know, I'll make it up to you. I promise. Ask anything you want." He said as I smiled.

"Take me out this weekend to the amusement park." I said as he nodded.

"Yes, I'll ask Ms.Melany to settle my appointments for the day." He said as he slid his arms around me, hugging me.

He lifted me off the bed carrying me bridal style and I yelped as I hugged him tighter. He carried me to the kitchen and put me down on the kitchen counter. He leaned down resting both of his arms beside me, I closed my eyes instinctively. He chuckled as he pulled out an apron from behind me. I opened my eyes to see him stifling his laughter. I jumped down trying to hit him when the bell rang. I ran to the door, forgetting that I was not dressed properly for the guest.

"E-Excuse me." I said to the awkward woman standing in front of me.

"Ehem. You must excuse me, I wasn't expecting a half-naked kid to open the door." She said. Her voice and tone was void of emotions but her eyes were warm. She's a nice person, Yeah I forgot to mention but I kind of judge everyone I met like this.

"Mel, hey come in. You want me to get some escort for you or something." Alastair grumbled as he slid his arms around my waist.

"Just be grateful that I care for you or else I'd have murdered you." She hit him with the files in her hand.

"Yeah whatever and this is baby, Daelyn. Baby this is Melany Moun, she's a good-for-nothing." Alastair said as he closed the door.

"What did you just say?" She asked as she plopped down on the sofa.

"Whatever, did you cover it up?" Alastair asked as he plopped down on the other couch, dumping the apron on the table in front of him. I wonder what they were talking about.

"Like hell. What was that? It was a literal blood bath. If I didn't know better I'd have thought that a river of blood was flowing through. There was a slaughter there, at least twenty corpses were found and all of them severely disfigured. Ethan says almost fifty of them are dead and several of them are missing body parts." She concluded, she looks cool. I wonder if I could present something like that at a company meeting. I giggled at the thought.

"Babydoll, you remember anything from that night." He asked, tucking a few stray hair strands beneath my ear.

EARLIER ON THAT DAY

"Wait for his orders. We don't know what to do with her. Also make sure she's handled properly, he wants her safely or else we won't get the money." A guy says to someone beside me, I feel so dizzy.

"Ahh." I groaned, my head hurts like hell and both my hands are tied to the chair.

"Ah Sam, she's up. Give her another shot." The guy said and a very tall woman walked up to me and injected something on my neck. The last thing I saw was a door banging open and some heavy footsteps and I passed out.

"Is that it? This is of no use." She asked, crossing her arms. I was feeling intimidated by her presence, I unconsciously squeezed on Alastair's bicep.

"Shut up. We do know one thing that it wasn't their idea but there is someone else behind the incident." He said glaring at her.

"You are whipped." She chuckled.

"You mean like you are for Vincent." He smirked and she blushed. Oh my, she blushed and her gaze had softened as he mentioned him. Since she was glaring at me from the start.

"He loves someone else anyway." She said, looking away.

"Who is Vincent anyway?" I asked curiously.

"The guy you pranked with a bucket of ice cold water." He said as I laughed, that was one nice prank I played. It wasn't meant for him but he walked right into it.

"You were the one who iced him." She giggled as I nodded enthusiastically.

"He almost broke the door that day." Alastair laughed as she hit him laughing.

"You mean the one with long hair, not long but longer Julian's." I asked.

"Yeah, him. The one you call pompon." Al said and Melany shot him a questioning gaze.

"He murders someone without batting an eye yet you call him pompon." Melany laughed and I admit that she looks a little less scary.

"He's soft. He let me go even if I said I was the one who played the prank." I huffed as I sank into the couch.

"That's because you are a kid and he happened to love kids. Also I'm leaving, I Have work to do." She said as she got off the couch.

"I'm not a kid." I pouted as she ruffled my hair and her phone rang with Julian's name on it.

"Yeah, we're on our way." She spoke in a worried tone and I wondered what it was.

"Al, we have a situation and it needs you." She said as he nodded in response.

"I'll be back in a few minutes. Don't go out and also don't open the door." He said with a warning tone.

"What is it?" He asked her and her face paled as she answered the phone.

"The black swan, he wants to meet you." She said and he almost ran out of the house.
