Chapter Eight

It all felt like I was watching a really bad movie on repeat. She was practically everywhere in the dining room, but most of the time, she had herself glued to Agnar, who saw absolutely nothing wrong with it, or maybe he was silently enjoying everything.

"Celine, darling, you are so nice; you would make an excellent Luna; don't you think so, Agnar?" Gertrude shouted from across the table, making sure that everyone heard her.

"Yeah," Agnar replied, taking a mouthful of his food.

"So typical," I whispered to myself while giving him a disdainful look.

"I mean she could have been a great partner for the ball"

She said making a pitiful face, Agnar glanced at me but quickly looked away before our eyes could meet.

"Please Gertrude, I will be fine" Celine replied. I prayed to the moon goddess for Gertrude to choke on her food.
