I didn't know what it meant to smile at work any more. Not since Selena had become my boss. I came to work with a heavy heart, knowing that just showing up for work alone meant that my day was already ruined.

I hated her, with everything in me. Embarrassment and humiliation from her was now a normal thing. Fun fact was that she had now teamed up with my manager to make things harder for me.

I should have known that things would get worse for me in the following weeks.

First thing Monday morning, she has already gone on a rampage about how I was incompetent and how I was going to get fired when she was the one who missed the meeting because she had an appointment at the spa. Even when I told her that she was going to miss the meeting, she screamed at me and told me to get out.

That day, she made sure everyone heard that “I had made her” miss a meeting.” and I hated her for it because no one stood up for me. Instead, I got comments about how I could do a better job and how I should
