It seemed like forever before they were ready to move her to the gurney that would take her outside. Atlas tried to stay out of the way so they could work and he followed them silently into the elevator.

He caught a whiff of Anais’s scent as they descended and nearly whined. It was muted and dry when it should be rich with pregnancy and healthy omega.
